A rather one-sided clash in the end. Not what you generally expect when these two teams clash in the shortest format. Bangladesh were too clinical in all departments and have gone up 1-0 in this two-match T20I series. Expect Afghanistan to come back with a bang. Should make the final game of the series an interesting affair. Do join us for that one. Until next time with more cricketing coverage, it's a goodbye from us. Cheers!

Mahmudullah | Bangladesh captain: It was pleasing to see how the boys fought out there. With the bat, ball and the energy (in the field) was superb to see. I think yes (whether 155 was defendable). We were looking to get 155-160. Was a challenging total on this pitch and the bowlers bowled very well. Nasum especially. Liton batted very well too. Throughout his innings, he was very pleasing to watch. Afif also chipped in. We'd want to keep this going and hopefully we can win the next game too.

Nasum Ahmed | Player of the Match: The target given to me was to concede a maximum of 12 runs in the powerplay. I conceded just 10 and also got four wickets in my entire spell. I love challenges in the powerplay, just stuck to my basics and tried to dry up the runs.

Mohammad Nabi | Afghanistan captain: The boys bowled really well, it was a good batting pitch. When we restricted them to 155, we were confident of chasing it. We threw our wickets in the powerplay and it put pressure on us. Losing four wickets in the first six overs put us on the back foot. We'll try our level best for the next game.

18:15 Local Time, 12:15 GMT, 17:45 IST: A win by 60-plus runs - that's some hammering in a T20 game. The surface had nothing to do with Afghanistan's meek batting display. They were simply outplayed and didn't help themselves with some poor shot selection. Nasum, as he generally does these days, wrecked havoc in the powerplay and before Afghanistan knew it, they were four down and were playing catch up from then onwards. The other Bangladesh bowlers continued with the good work and just refused to give any hit-me balls to the batters. Only three batters crossed double figures - a stat that should tell you the story. It did seem at the halfway mark that Bangladesh were below-par with their total but their bowlers made full use of the extra bounce in this Dhaka pitch and made it into a comfortably match-winning total. Afghanistan's batting approach was bizarre, but so was their team selection, going with barely any specialist batters.

Shoriful Islam to Mujeeb, out Caught by Afif Hossain!! Bangladesh complete a thumping win! The final formalities have been completed. Dug in short by Shoriful, slower ball though and Mujeeb is deceived by the lack of pace. Goes hard on the pull, gets it off the top half of the blade and picks out deep mid-wicket. Mujeeb c Afif Hossain b Shoriful Islam 4(4) [4s-1]

Shoriful Islam to Mujeeb, THATS OUT!! Caught!!

Shoriful Islam to Mujeeb, FOUR, fullish length, Mujeeb backs away and heaves it away through mid-wicket. Clean connection and deep mid-wicket can't get across

Shoriful Islam to Qais Ahmad, out Caught&Bowled!! Shoriful has his revenge instantly! Dug in short, totally cramps Ahmad who was down the track looking to hoick this away. The extra bounce chokes him and he can only skew this straight up in the air. Shoriful calls for it and takes the skier with ease. Just a wicket away now. Qais Ahmad c and b Shoriful Islam 8(9) [4s-1]

Shoriful Islam to Qais Ahmad, THATS OUT!! Caught&Bowled!!

Mustafizur to Azmatullah, out Caught by Mahmudullah!! Miscued slice, straight up and only as far as mid-off. Was an off-cutter, angling across Omarzai who looks to slog across the line. Can't do that against Mustafizur, his cutters grip so much and induce the false stroke and that's what happens here as well. Azmatullah c Mahmudullah b Mustafizur 20(18) [4s-2 6s-1]

Mustafizur to Azmatullah, THATS OUT!! Caught!!

Mustafizur to Qais Ahmad, 1 run, another slower ball, dipping full toss and Ahmad adjusts in time to work this past square leg
