Afghanistan are a young team in Test cricket but we expect more from them as they have won three of their six Tests. Yes, they were without their best player - Rashid Khan - but that is no excuse to be blown away with the bat in both the innings. They just couldn't handle the heat of the Bangladesh pace trio and that is a lesson they will take away. That is all from this one-off Test. But these two sides will meet for five white-ball games soon. Until next time, goodbye and stay safe..

Litton Das: I am very happy with the way boys played the whole game. The weather was very hot and it was not easy, credit goes to our batters especially Shanto. The way the bowlers bowled in this heat it was amazing to see. We have good quality of pacers and spinners too.

Najmul Shanto | Player of the Match: I am really with the way I batted. We (himself and Mominul) were talking about the record after I got to the hundred, he (Mominul) said welcome to the group. It is a good opportunity for the batters to bat on such a wicket and happy to see the bowlers bowl well. As a player we have to perform in all the formats and I was clear with my plans.

Hashmatullah Shahidi: I am feeling good. Just had a scan and it is clear. It didn't go our way from the start of the match. We had some positives. The thing was we played after a long break in Tests. We will learn more as much as we play in Test cricket.

12:15 Local Time, 06:15 GMT, 11:45 IST: This is an absolute pasting by Bangladesh. The biggest victory in terms of runs in the 21st century, overall the third biggest and the other two were in 1928 and 1934. Afghanistan were never in the game. Apart from the second morning where they picked the last 5 wickets for 9 runs, it has been all Bangladesh. Afghanistan came into this Test having previously beaten the hosts and hence an even contest was expected. But the conditions have changed since their victory in 2019; the surfaces are more conducive to fast bowling and that was evident with the pacers picking 21 of the 33 wickets to fall in the Test. Ebadot, Shoriful and Taskin were excellent with the ball and got more out of the surface than their counterparts. Najmul Shanto was the standout batter as he became only the second Bangladesh player to score two hundreds in a Test, while the rest of them played supporting roles in Bangladesh's biggest victory.

The physio is out there to check on him. And FYI, the session has been extended as Bangladesh need only one wicket. Zahir is still in quite a lot of pain. The right elbow is being strapped. But looks like Zahir is not going to continue. He's walking off. Handshakes all around and Bangladesh win by 546 runs.

Taskin Ahmed to Zahir Khan, no run, ouch! That is going to hurt. Zahir backs away and Taskin follows him with a short of length delivery, Zahir takes his eyes off and is struck flush on the elbow

Back over the wicket

32.5

Taskin Ahmed to Zahir Khan, no run, fuller and around off, Zahir stays leg-side and eases it to cover

32.4

Taskin Ahmed to Zahir Khan, no run, full toss at the stumps, Zahir makes room and drives it straight to cover

32.4

Taskin Ahmed to Zahir Khan, no ball, second time Bangladesh denied the victory. And Taskin is still searching for his 5-fer. This is a full toss and crashes into the top of off-stump. But since it was high the decision was referred upstairs by the square leg umpire, height was checked and it was above the waist. Taskin cannot believe it but he still has three balls to pick up his fifth wicket

32.3

Taskin Ahmed to Zahir Khan, no run, Bangladesh's celebration have to wait. They were all running away in different directions but Zahir knew there was no edge. He backs away and tries to have a poke, beaten by a good six inches or so and the ball flies over the stumps. Not sure what umpire Chris Brown heard as he raised his finger

Afghanistan review! Zahir is given out caught behind. Taskin is celebrating and even does the Sajda thinking he has a 5-fer. But he has to wait as the third umpire is having a look. Zahir is nowhere close to the ball. Nothing on the UltraEdge as well. Not Out!

Taskin Ahmed to Zahir Khan, FOUR, backs away even before the ball was bowled, Taskin attacks the off-stump but Zahir throws his hands and slices the outside edge over the slip cordon

Taskin Ahmed to Ahmadzai, out Caught by Mushfiqur!! Rahim hangs on to a sharp catch. Taskin has a fourth. Bangladesh are one wicket away now.. Full pitcher around off, Ahmadzai thought he could smash it to the boundary, he does not hold back and drills it uppishly towards shortish mid-off, Rahim dives across and takes it with both hands. Mehidy Hasan Miraz to Nijat Masood, FOUR, he's done defending. Goes for the slog sweep and miscues it to the vacant deep mid-wicket region

31.5

Mehidy Hasan Miraz to Nijat Masood, no run, another straighter one, Masood plays for the turn and is beaten on the outside edge

31.4

Mehidy Hasan Miraz to Nijat Masood, no run, wow! This one goes straight on and bounces viciously, Masood was nowhere close to the line and is beaten comprehensively. Good take by Litton as the ball was climbing
