Shahidi collects the trophy, poses for the photographs and then join his team-mates who are standing behind the WINNER hoarding. All smiles in the Afghanistan camp. Bangladesh won the one-off Test convincingly but Afghanistan roared back in style to register their first-ever ODI series win against Bangladesh. This is a big achievement for Shahidi and Co. as this is only Bangladesh's second ODI series loss since 2015. On that note, it's time to bring the curtains down. The action shifts to Sylhet for the shortest format. Tune in on Friday for the first of the two T20Is. Until then, goodbye!
Hashmatullah Shahidi | Afghanistan captain: Very happy with the performance of the team. Today was tough, we lost this game but we'll learn from this. Bangladesh played really well, they put under pressure from the beginning. I'll not be part of the T20 squad but best wishes to the team. Special thanks to the fans, they support us wherever we go.
Litton Das | Bangladesh captain: Before the next T20 series, this his helpful for us. Boys did a good job. We used the new ball well. All the bowlers bowled really well. They didn't have too many runs on the board. We were okay to bat patiently.
Fazalhaq Farooqi | Player of the Series: Struggled in the Sri Lanka series, I worked very hard and prepared really well in Abu Dhabi. I tried too many things in Sri Lanka. I just wanted to bowl in the right areas and that's why I was successful here.
Shoriful Islam | Player of the Match: Happy, worked very hard. I've been listening to Allan Donald's advice. The bowling partnership with Taskin really helped me.
19:32 Local Time, 13:32 GMT, 19:02 IST: A pretty straightforward chase for Bangladesh and they avoid the series whitewash. They lost a couple of wickets in the first powerplay with Fazalhaq Farooqi - the leading wicket-taker of the series - removing Naim and Shanto. At 28/2, the two senior players - Litton Das and Shakib - joined hands and forged a half-century partnership calmly. Shakib fell to Nabi trying to play a big shot but the Bangladesh captain brought up his fifty and remained unbeaten till the end as the hosts chased down the total with 26.3 overs to spare. This win was set up by their bowlers. Shoriful and Taskin ran riot with the new ball restricting their opponents to 15/4. Post that, the spinners continued to do the good work as they kept a tight lid on the scoring rate. Azmatullah fought a lone battle, registered his maiden ODI fifty and ensured that his team got to three-digits but 126 was nowhere close to being competitive. Stay tuned for the presentations
