That brings an end to our today's coverage. Hope you guys enjoyed it. For now, switch tabs and enjoy the match between India and Australia. We've got another breathtaking run chase on the cards with Virat Kohli in full throttle. 41st ODI ton? We shall find that out soon... This is Nikhil signing off on behalf of Ramki and Naga. See you later!
Asghar Afghan: Today's match was important for us. The top-order batsmen didn't play well but Rashid did the job for us. We can give a chance to other players in the next match. For a captain, winning the match is important, getting the Man of the Match doesn't matter. I am not feeling well and have had an MRI scan, just waiting for the results.
Rashid Khan, Man of the Match: I am always trying my best in the batting department. Today I did it for the team, they needed me. I try to deliver my best. Got a fifty at a crucial time, when the team needed it. You need to keep yourself fresh, you need to enjoy your fielding, batting and bowling. That's what I am doing from the last three years. I believe in my skills and enjoy the game. Hopefully need to do the best things and grab the opportunity in the next match too.
William Porterfield: Few individual errors cost us the match. They got a deep batting line-up but I'm not overly concerned with the bowling. It's with the batting I am disappointed with. We managed to lose wickets throughout. We didn't do the basics right. There's not a lot to do in a day, just need to get into the nets and do our best.
19:22 Local Time, 13:52 GMT, 19:22 IST: What a tremendous recovery by Afghanistan. After the first 90 minutes or so of the match, they were reduced to 81/6 but Mohammad Nabi and Asghar Afghan played pivotal knocks to lead Afghanistan's fightback. Not to forget the quickfire fifty by Rashid too. They posted a competitive score on a track that assisted spinners and with the kind of bowling line-up the hosts have, they were always going to be the favourites to win. Mujeeb, Rashid and Nabi chipped in with useful bowling spells but Aftab Alam was the pick of the lot as he claimed four crucial wickets - that also included Kevin O Brien's scalp. With a match to go, Afghanistan will be looking forward to make it 3-1 in a few day's time. Hang on for the presentations.
Nabi to Rankin, out Lbw!! Afghanistan beat Ireland by 109 runs and lead the ODI series 2-1. Rankin tries to defend this tossed up delivery but gets beaten as he plays for the spin. It keeps straight, goes past his defence and strikes him on the pads. The batsman was signaling that he'd some bat on it, but the umpire's finger goes up by then. Clinical performance by the Afghan tigers! Rankin lbw b Nabi 9(14)
