That's the end of the ODI series. But we have the T20Is next, starting on the 15th of March. We will be there to bring it to you. Do join us then. Till then take care and be well. Bye for now.

The trophy is presented to Shahidi who accepts it and poses with his elated team-mates. They pose for the cameras with beaming smiles.

Hashmatullah Shahidi | Afghanistan captain: Very happy about the performance of the team and congratulate my team for the win. Stirling and Campher both of them were playing very good. When I was batting it was not easy and I trusted my spinners and they did the job. It was the critical partnership as we lost back to back wickets and unluckily Azmat got run out. We were discussing to take it deep and let's make it to the 45th over. That was the first ODI pitch, while our batting also it was slower and the ball was not coming on to the bat. There was support but our spin bowlers put in the right areas. [on Nabi] He is amazing player and as a senior guy, he is 40 years old I think and he always contributes in batting and bowling, while fielding also, what can I say about him! He is an inspiration while fielding as well.

Paul Stirling | Ireland captain: I think we were happy with chasing 230. We were in a pretty good position to chase that down. As a bowling group they have grown over the last couple of days. Credit to them for bringing it down from 300 from the first game and we should have chased that down. I was batting well but got out and then it all went downhill. We haven't had time to think where it all went wrong tonight but we will do and focus on the T20s and the World Cup coming up. There was a lot of dew in the first game, certainly with the wind, it did not come in tonight and that probably cost us.

Rahmanullah Gurbaz | Player of the Series: It was a great series for me and my team as well. Not happy with the bat, I spent a lot of time on the wicket and was very excited as I scored a lot against them. I always try to do better for my country against every team, not only against Ireland. We worked hard after we lost the Test and we were focussed more, that's why we got the result. We are ready for the T20s as well. [Dedicates this award to Nangyal Kharoti and wishes him the best for his future]

Mohammad Nabi | Player of the Match: Really happy to perform in that kind of conditions. After a long time, after 17-18 years of ODI cricket, I took a fifer, very happy. Just bowled on a line and a length, he hit me for a sixer first over and then in the next over, I told Ibrahim to put back mid-off and bowled wicket to wicket and he did a mistake. I wanted to put a big total on the board and I went harder that time.

Jonathan Trott | Afghanistan head coach: I thought we were a little bit short with the runs. We were in a good position but the wicket slowed down and we felt our selection for this game was right. Nabi took the responsibility as a senior player and Nangyal after a rough first over, showed his steel. That's what's important about this series, start blooding the youngsters. Sri Lanka we did not play the cricket we know we can. There will be ups and downs in that format. We pride ourselves on our white-ball cricket. We have an important T20 series coming up, we don't want to get too far ahead of ourselves for cricket is a great leveller. It's important we maintain this momentum.

22:10 Local Time, 18:10 GMT, 23:40 IST: Afghanistan win the series 2-0. It's a demolition job from their spinners. 9 to Nabi and Nangyal Kharoti. And what a collapse from Ireland - from 77/1 to 119 all out. Stirling and Campher when they were together, it was smooth sailing but once the skipper went after his fifty, it was a procession. Nabi was special as he kept the ball on a string and the Irish batters had no clue. He varied his pace, line, length and trajectory beautifully to bowl one of the finest spells seen at this stadium. Deservedly finished with his maiden fifer in ODIs. The debutant Nangyal Kharoti got carted for 6 and 4 off his first two balls but after that settled down and bowled very well to complement Nabi. His fast arm-balls were a huge threat. Ireland will be very disappointed with their effort with the bat as they had a real chance to square the series. Stay tuned for the presentation...

Nangyal Kharoti to McCarthy, out Bowled!! Nangyal Kharoti has four and finishes it off. The arm-ball, so quick, rushes past the cut of McCarthy and rams into the stumps. McCarthy was making room and it kept a bit low too. McCarthy b Nangyal Kharoti 8(18) [6s-1]

Nabi to Hume, out Bowled!! Fifer for Nabi. His first in ODIs. Another terrific delivery, drift in to middle and off and then slides on straight, Hume did not do much wrong, gets forward to defend, just played inside the line if one has to be critical, the ball hits off-stump. Hume b Nabi 5(19)
