Afghanistan take a 1-0 lead and gain 10 crucial World Cup Super League points. They have now won four out of four! Netherlands, on the other hand, are at the bottom and will be eager to move up the ladder. Two more games left; 20 points up for grabs. Can the visitors level the series? Or will Afghanistan continue to dominate? Tune in on Sunday for the second ODI. For now, it's goodbye.
Hashmatullah Shahidi, Player of the Match: It was a satisfying win, we played well. Honestly, we were 30 runs short. We bowled really well, the wicket was very slow. Rahmat is a senior player, he played very well today. They (Netherlands) bowled really well, next game we'll try to bat better than today. We have good spinners, we want the batsmen to play according to the situation. We have won four now, we want to finish on a high. Feeling good, first game as a captain. This win gives me a lot of confidence. There was a bit of pressure, I learnt a lot today. The wicket was slow and low, so I wanted to be in the middle till the end. I read the conditions and I knew it wouldn't be easier for new batters.
Pieter Seelaar: A couple of missed chances, the stumping of Rahmat, Hashmatullah dropped once or twice. We were in the game for quite a while with the bat, but the skills of Rashid and Ahmadzai were too good. 222 is a score we should chase. They were very good, all the bowlers were pretty good. Unfortunately we came up short. Very cold, very windy, hopefully the conditions improve in the next two games. We haven't played cricket for quite a long time, we competed but we are here to win matches. We've got two wins, two losses and a NR. We've got all to play for in the next two matches.
17:20 Local Time, 14:20 GMT, 19:50 IST: The second innings' main battle was always going to be the Netherlands batters vs Mujeeb-Rashid. And this is how it panned out - 19 overs | 1 maiden | 70 runs | 5 wickets. On a slow and tricky pitch, Scott Edwards looked in really good touch and the match was in the balance as long as he was out in the middle. But he was cleaned up by a beautiful Mujeeb delivery. Although Pieter Seelaar was involved in a fifty partnership with the opener, the Netherlands captain never really got going. The asking-rate kept increasing and the visitors crumbled under pressure. Yamin Ahmadzai picked two wickets and the home team effected three run-outs to win the first ODI quite comfortably. Earlier seventies from Shahidi and Rahmat Shah helped Afghanistan to post 222 on the board, which turned out to be sufficient for the hosts.

Ahmadzai to Kingma, out Kingma Run Out!! 1 run completed. Close to the blockhole, jammed into the off-side and the batters set off for a sharp single. The bowler misses the target and Kingma is in. However, he wants the second on overthrows. He gets sent back but he's in trouble now - courtesy a direct hit from Rashid. Replays show that he's short of his ground. You just can't keep him quiet. Rashid Khan to Kingma, no run, full ball, driven back to Rashid.
Rashid Khan to Kingma, no run, sharp leggie, spins past the defensive outside edge of Kingma
Rashid Khan to Kingma, no run, two in two for Rashid Khan? Oh wait, what happened there? Another lovely googly, the new batter gets forward to defend and the ball sneaks through the bat-pad gap. Did the ball bounce over the sticks? Mind you, there are no bails due to the breeze. It's mighty close to the top of the sticks. Might have just missed off! And the benefit of doubt goes to the batter
Vivian Kingma, right handed bat, comes to the crease
