The cup is presented to Shahidi and he lifts it up with a smile on his face. His team is in front of a board named CHAMPIONS and he joins them to pose for the photos. All smiles are the Afghanistanis. The Super League points table is up and BI0$. England are top but still a long way to go for things to change there. That's it from this game. On behalf of everyone, signing off for now. There's a deluge of cricket on this platform - so do check out everything. Until next time stay safe and take care. Bye!
Shahidi: I want to congratulate my nation for these brilliant wins. I'm enjoying all the things and it has been very good for me. We were struggling in the initial overs, I had the belief that we could play well in the later overs. Najib played really well at the end. I'm very happy that we have a lot of future young talents who can play for Afghanistan. I'm very happy for Riaz and the other youngsters. It is pleasing to win all 6 (3 against Ireland and 3 here) and we want to go to the next series with a high morale. *Signs off with a message in his language*
Edwards: It is nice to be up top of the order. That's probably where the wickets play best there. It would've been nice to carry on in some of those innings. I like facing spin bowling, it is nice to get in against the pace and once spin comes on, it suits my game. They are world-class spinners and a great opportunity, thankfully got out only once or twice to them.
Scott Edwards is the Player of the Series for his 3 consecutive half-centuries.
Najibullah Zadran is the Player of the Match for his quickfire 71.
Seelar: We haven't. We have bowled quite well in the whole series, the Afghani bowling lineup has been too much for the batters and we have to face that reality. They pretty much outplayed us. Scotty [Edwards] has looked exceptional in all three games, Colin [Ackermann] was very good today and Clayton [Floyd] held his nerve to bowl in the powerplay. We have to take those positives forward. We have to look at the negatives as well - quite a few of them. In three games we haven't been able to put up a bigger score. It's been frustrating not to get 1 or 2 games before, I don't want to give any excuses, Afghanistan have been deserving winners. We will be in New Zealand in a month's time, we have got to put in a lot of hard work in order to put up a good show there.
17:15 Local Time, 14:15 GMT, 19:45 IST: Afghanistan have clean-swept the series 3-0 and take all the Super League points on offer (30). 6 wickets to the spinners after a century-plus opening stand. Edwards and Ackermann were going so well but once that stand was broken, wickets was taken at regular intervals. The game was as good as done when Rashid trapped Ackermann in front and the lower order just couldn't handle the variations of the spin trio. Shahidi must be complimented for his captaincy, when the opening duo were going, the fielding was sloppy but he rung in the changes and all of them worked. And in crucial moments, his big players stood up. Disappointing for Netherlands but another learning curve on their path to get better. Stay tuned for the presentation...
