West Indies have won their first ODI series since 2014, it's been a while. After five long years they've got to taste victory, so tonight definitely calls for a party. Being a weekend, it ought to be a happening night. That's all we've got for you all for the day. It's time to bounce as we head to enjoy the weekend as well. I'll see you day after with the coverage of the final ODI of the series, it's a dead rubber though. Can West Indies inflict a whitewash? Join us on Monday to find that out. Peace out!
Nicholas Pooran, MoM: Definitely feels good well with the series win. I know it was a critical situation and I had to build a partnership with someone. Was trying to get a start and go through my basics. Once I was there I just had to execute my skills.
Kieron Pollard: It feels good, been a long since we have won a series. It was a good wicket, it was a bit drier. It was just a matter of giving that opportunity to go hard in the end. Pooran batted well and showed consistency. The openers laid the foundation for us and Hetmyer played according to the situation as well. I want to go back inside and celebrate with the guys. Winning is a habit and we need to enjoy ourselves similarly day after. I've never played with so many flies around. Health is very important, so something's got to be done about that.
Rashid Khan: I think we started off really well, we bowled well in the first few overs. Credit goes to Pooran for the way he played. 247 was still chaseable with such a deep batting line up. We recovered well, but couldn't finish off. The only plan was to bowl dot balls and they'll make mistakes. We knew we could get few opportunities. The senior players did well, but we lost wickets in clusters. In the next match we'll try to play much better than this and be positive. I think we need to focus on that. We need to believe in ourselves, that's where we're lacking a touch.
21:42 Local Time, 16:12 GMT, 21:42 IST: West Indies thump Afghanistan by 47 runs and take an unassailable lead of 2-0 in the series. Afghanistan lost the first match while defending and tonight they have failed to chase down a total. On a two paced wicket, Nicholas Pooran launched himself towards the end overs and powered the Windies closer to the 250-run mark. In reply, Afghanistan didn't get off to a great start either with Javed Ahmadi throwing his wicket away early. Rahmat Shat got a start, but he failed to convert it into a big score as he was run-out. However, the partnership between Najibullah and Nabi kept the Afghan dreams alive. At a point it looked as if they'll take the hosts home, but that wasn't to be. Once that partnership was broken, it was just a matter of time. Walsh bagged three wickets, but Cottrell was the pick of the bowlers with figures of 9-0-29-3. Hang in for the presentations..
