That's all we have for tonight. High time Australia regard T20Is - a format that's fast-evolving into a money minting machine. As if it hadn't already! India, on the other hand, are taking giant strides towards achieving mission #111. It would have been a bummer if the rain didn't stop. Thankfully it did, and lets hope it stays clear for the next T20I in Guwahati, on Tuesday. Until then, this is Raju Peethala wishing you a happy weekend along with my colleagues Pratyush Sinha, Akshay Maanay and Ramakrishnan. I'll see thee...

Stat wrap-up by Deepu Narayanan:
- Today was the fifth successive time Chahal dismissed Maxwell: firstly in IPL 2017, then thrice in the ODI series, and today
- Jasprit Bumrah, with 36 wickets now, pipped Ashish Nehra to become the second-most successful T20I bowler for India. Ravi Ashwin leads the chart with 52 wickets
- Six Australian batsmen were bowled today, which equals the world record
- This is Warner's first loss as Australia's T20I captain

Kuldeep Yadav, deserved Man of the Match winner: I'm very happy. This is my first Man of the Match. First couple of balls I saw what he (Finch) was trying to do and set him up with an overpitched ball. I always think about wickets and that's what really matters to me and the team. I'm getting more confident day by day and game by game. Performing well against a top side like Australia, I'm very happy for myself.

"After winning the toss and bowling first that sort of effort was required and the our bowlers did well. The game can get tricky with a small chase like that. Bhuvi getting us the early breakthrough, Bumrah in the end overs and spinners in the middle overs. It's been a combined effort from the players. Giving the younger bowlers the confidence they need. Wrist spinners can turn the game on its head. We are very happy with the bowlers right now. You need to execute your yorkers and you have to have a strong head to take your chances against the batsmen. You need to have skill and a strong head in T20I cricket. He (Dhawan) was playing really well in Sri Lanka. He is an impact player and we need him to do well," says Indian captain Virat Kohli.

"We will try and be better next game. At the end of the day, we didn't deserve to win. The bowlers did an okay job. I don't really have an answer for our struggles in T20Is. It's disappointing and we'll see how we can improve that. He's (Behrendorff) from Perth and he's got nice bounce and pace. I'm looking forward to playing more games with him in Australian colors," says Australian captain Warner.

Aayush Singhal: Well, it's official. India have won the Super Series!

Dhawan: Feeling pretty happy that we won the game. It was a short game but still a lot of pressure. Good to be back with the boys. It was a tough time for me and my family. I am thankful to God that we came out of it. It is a good start for me and gives me confidence. Looking forward to the coming games.

22:43 local: India and their chances were never in doubt. Only rain could have changed the outcome of this game. The game was won in the first innings with bowlers creating all sorts - on a tricky Ranchi pitch - to the Australian batsmen. It seemed as if rain might have the final say after it consumed nearly two hours of play. But once, it relented...India started off the chase with 'skates-on' mode. Two of India's best batsmen in the limited overs were on the extreme ends of a yawning run-chase. Rohit blazed the innings off with a four and Kohli capped with something similar. Presentations imminent...

Christian to Kohli, FOUR, India beat Australia for the 7th successive time in T20Is. Kohli puts the marker with a lofty-drive over mid-off. Warner didn't even wait for the ball to go to the fence, as soon as he saw Kohli execute the shot, he started walking towards the Indian skipper to shake hands

5.2

Christian to Kohli, 2 runs, short and swerving in, Kohli doesn't move an inch. Just jabs at it using his wrist power to great effect, NCN throws himself at deep backward square and denies India and Kohli a boundary. Brilliant display of athleticism

Christian to Dhawan, 1 run, provides width, Dhawan frees his arms and slaps to deep cover

Daniel Christian, right-arm medium, comes into the attack

One shot away. Six balls in the bank. Dan from round the wicket

Zampa to Kohli, no run, steps out of his crease and drives a fullish delivery to cover

4.5

Zampa to Dhawan, 1 run, an ungainly looking loft from Dhawan. Was undone by the length - short - there. Had to manufacture a much effective bat swing and thus, mistimes in the air over a helpless mid-on. Warner dived, but it wasn't even close

Akshay: First ball boundary by Rohit reminded me of Sehwag. Then the wicket ball too, clean bowled with lack, or better I say, no leg movement. A completely Viru thing.

4.4

Zampa to Dhawan, no run, a little shimmy, gets too close to the pitch of the ball and biffs it off the toe-end to short cover

4.3

Zampa to Dhawan, no run, quicker and skids away off the pitch, Dhawan backs away a touch and misses on the cut. Was very close to taking the edge

4.2

Zampa to Kohli, 1 run, short, Kohli tries the pull, but since the ball kept low, it clicked the inside edge and rolled to short fine
