Few pointers from the game. How good is Bumrah? G.O.A.T material in the death overs. India despite not fielding their full strength side did manage to stretch Australia to their absolute limits. And as Virat said more game time for Rahul and Pant will follow. So, India's permutations and combinations will change again keeping the larger picture in mind. Australia have managed to scratch a win here but will they pick up one more on the bounce? We shall see! This is Kumar Abhisekh Das signing off on behalf of Akshay Maanay, Abhinand Raghavendran, Varun Dikshit and Naga. Such games will ensure I need to have more medicos as friends!
Harsha Bhogle: Was a fabulous game. Didn't think India would take 126 that far. Major issues though with the lower order batting
Nathan Coulter-Nile, Man of the Match: I thought the boys bowled really well and we scraped home in the end. We worked out quickly that the ball was not coming on to the bat and dragged our lengths back. We have been playing a bit of cricket in the BBL. Really good to have a win and hopefully we will have another one next game and win the series.
Aaron Finch: I think on that wicket, it got lower and slower. When Bumrah has an over up his sleeve, it's gonna be hard. The run-outs did not help but great to get the win. They dragged the length back after the initial start. We were able to get some reverse and were bowling into the wicket. These guys are getting more and more experience. It's a really strong position to be in. Nathan is a wicket-taker. He has been very consistent in the IPL as well. Maxi played a hell of an innings on a pitch which was tough to bat.
Virat Kohli: In the first innings, we were not up to scratch. The wicket was decent enough till the 15th over. We didn't bat really well. A low scoring game is always on the cards in T20 cricket. With the bowling effort we were pleased. Bumrah can do wonders with the ball when it is reversing and did exceptionally well to get us in the game. And Mayank did well in the middle overs as well. Anything is possible now. We want to give game time to Rahul and Pant to figure out what we need to do in the World Cup. I think he (Rahul) played a really good knock, we had a good partnership. 150 would have been a winning score the way the pitch played. Australia deserved to win as they played better than us.
Harsha Bhogle: That 19th over from Bumrah was out of this world. Tells you why he is the best. 14 was more than imagined in the bank for the last over but wasn't to be for Umesh Yadav. Shows too why 8/9 need to have some batting skills
Maxwell: Win is a win obviously. I thought I was able to control in the middle overs. Had a good partnership with D'Arcy, but unfortunately both of us gout out in quick succession which caused a bit of chaos towards the end. Pat Cummins and Jhye Richardson were excellent in the end. That's (batting at 4) something I have done well in T20Is and domestically back home in the Big Bash. It's a position I'm comfortable to bat in. Hopefully, I continue to do well. Krunal and Bumrah were extremely hard to get away. I decided to target other players like Chahal. I was trying to hit another six (on his dismissal), but it was a poor bat swing, I'll make amends in the next game.
Last ball wins against India (T20Is):
NZ, Wellington, 2009
SL, Gros Islet, 2010
Eng, Mumbai WS, 2014
Aus, Vizag, 2019*
This is the first time India have lost two consecutive T20 Internationals since June 2016.
Also their first loss in eight T20Is at home.
WHAT.A.GAME! In hindsight, the game was about no-tail versus a longish one. Number 8 and number 9 of Australia managed to squeeze a win for India where as India's number 9 was cheered along even when he just laid bat to ball. Could MS have farmed the strike better? And how will the management accomodate such a big tail in a bigger game? 127 certainly was a below par score but India brought their A game to the table and made a match out of it after being abysmal with the bat. And there has to be a few words for Rahul and Maxwell, who scored fifties and seemed like they batted on a different surface altogether. But Vizag fans, though a bit hard done after the final ball, must have enjoyed this thriller. Going down to the wire never had a befitting example. Hang on for the presentation ceremony.

U Yadav to Pat Cummins, 2 runs, wow! Aussies have won this. They have stolen a win in the last over after almost losing it in the last five. Umesh Yadav and his death bowling went for a toss. Managed to squeeze it past the bowler and scampered back for a brace. The throw from long-on did not have accuracy and the Aussie camp are chuffed to bits
U Yadav to Pat Cummins, FOUR, the tail doing it for the Aussies. India did not have one. Low full toss, Pat Cummins backed away and biffed it past cover for a four. 2 needed now. Final ball coming up
U Yadav to J Richardson, 1 run, low full toss, almost a yorker, has been drilled down to long-on. Only a single. Umesh is being bull headed now and rightly so. Yorkers are the best option. 6 off 2 now
And Umesh stops in his delivery stride seeing the non-striker back up too much. A little pause in play. Catch your breathe back. My finger nails have been powered. Massive field changes being rung in. Kohli is at deep mid now
U Yadav to J Richardson, 2 runs, and that second will hurt. Dug the yorker out past the bowler and scampered through. The throw at the batter's end went in vain
U Yadav to J Richardson, FOUR, moves across his sticks and blasts it past deep mid for a four! That was a dagger in the heart of the Indian fans as they are silenced. 9 needed off 4 now
U Yadav to Pat Cummins, 1 run, drags the length ball away to long-on for a single. Was again cramping the batter for room. 13 off 5 needed now
Umesh Yadav [3.0-0-21-0] is back into the attack
Jhye Richardson, right handed bat, comes to the crease
14 needed now..Umesh to bowl it.

Bumrah to Coulter-Nile, out Bowled!! Oh Bumrah! You are a poet in the death overs. An inswinging yorker squeezes under the bat and messes the woodwork. India get another wicket. Brilliant from the death over specialist. How good is this man? You can't quantify it. 142.7kph delivery and Coulter-Nile had no chance. He trudges back slowly. The Vizag crowd have their decibel levels up as well. 14 needed off the final over now. Coulter-Nile b Bumrah 4(8)
Bumrah to Coulter-Nile, THATS OUT!! Bowled!!
