And with that we can wrap up our coverage for this Test match. A nice break of nearly two weeks now before the action resumes in Indore. Australia could really do with that break, just for some mental rejuvenation if nothing else. Let's hope they can come back stronger in the third Test. Join us then, for now this is Saurabh signing off on behalf of Pradeep and Praveen.
(On advice to KL Rahul) I think he needs to trust his processes. This is just a phase, he has been one of our most successful overseas openers. He’s got hundreds in South Africa and England, we’ll continue to back him. I believe he has the quality and class to come out of this. It is great working with this unit, managing formats is the most difficult part. But there’s not a lot of technical coaching, just simple conversations and challenging them, and giving them a pat on the back when they do well. (On WTC Final) We still haven’t qualified. It is about staying in the moment, taking it one step at a time and don’t look to the future. Now it is time to enjoy a break and go back to Nagpur. (On Kohli’s food parcel delivery) It wasn’t Chole Bhature, it was Kulcha Chole. He was tempting me with it but I said I’m 50 years old, I can’t handle so much cholesterol anymore (laughs).
(On today’s plans) I think it was about sticking to a length and letting the wicket do it for us. I felt yesterday we overpitched too much, and honestly we learnt from what Australia and Nathan Lyon did. I think the balance that we have is brilliant, there’s great depth to be able to play 9 batters. (On Virat Kohli) I thought the judgement of length was really good, there was a sense of calm when he was playing which is a great sign. These are tricky wickets, you can’t play the perfect innings and you need a bit of luck to go your way. (On Rohit’s batting) He’s a Bombay basher that’s grown up in the maidans. I feel he’s unlucky to get himself injured. He wasn’t there for the Test matches in South Africa and England. But he comes across as a good old-fashioned Test batsman.
Rahul Dravid | Indian Head Coach: (On Rohit’s captaincy) I think he has been brilliant. He has the respect of the dressing room. He is one of those guys who has been there a long time. The kind of person who doesn’t speak a lot, but when he does they all listen. He deeply cares a lot about the dressing room and the players. We are very lucky to have Rohit take over the leadership from someone like Virat. (On the turning point) This Test match moved up and down, but today morning it moved really quickly for us. I think it was the partnership between Axar and Ashwin that changed things. We wanted to chase something close to 200-225 and that partnership enabled us to get back, or we’d have been trailing. A bit of a downer to concede too many runs in the evening, I think we bowled probably wrong and were all over the place, and they came hard at us, but we course-corrected this morning. It was just brilliant then how the game moved.
Ravindra Jadeja | Player of the Match: I think I was enjoying my bowling. These wickets suit me because the odd ball spins and some stay low. I knew they'd play sweeps and reverse sweeps, so my idea was just keeping it simple and straight. I knew they were looking for runs, so the plan was just bowling into the stumps. If they make a mistake, I have a chance. Don't think the sweep is a good option against me on this kind of wicket (laughs and walks off).
Rohit Sharma: Fantastic result for us. Looking at how things were yesterday, the way we came back and finished our job was great. Even if we were just one run behind, I felt we were trailing because we had to bat last. I think the bowlers were fantastic, to take 9 wickets today morning is commendable. And then we finished the job with the bat. On a pitch like this, people need to do something different. We were prepared for them coming out and playing shots. Our idea was to not panic and just hit the right areas, waiting for the mistake to happen and that's exactly what happened. Every game you play in this type of weather, there is some moisture. What I noticed is there is a lot to offer in the first session, but as it goes on it gets slower and there isn't enough bite. So our focus was keeping it tight in the morning, and these guys are the masters of bowling in these conditions. (Game changing moment) There are lot of moments across four innings, but I thought the partnership between Jadeja and Virat, and then Axar-Ash was brilliant. I think that's a big help because of the balance we have created for ourselves.
Pat Cummins: I thought 260 was a decent score in the first innings. The guys bounced back well. But India batted well, just 1-2 partnerships and you can get to that 260 mark quite easily. In the innings break, it was all even. Disappointed, we were ahead of the game but we slipped. We need a review on what could have been done different. (On batters getting out to sweeps) Everyone controls their own game, some balls just have your name. But we need a review on the shot choice, did we do things right? Both games were disappointing, this one in particular. We were ahead in the game and that doesn't happen often in India. This loss hurts.

Cheteshwar Pujara: It's been a great Test match, unfortunately I didn't get any runs in the first innings, but I knew if I stay for the first 10 minutes I can score. A special feeling, was very nervous as my entire family was there. A special feeling to hit the winning boundary, looking forward to the remaining 2 Tests. Lovely, congrats to all the guys (on Saurashtra's Ranji triumph), was following the scores until lunch. Great achievement, we've been consistent over the last few years and it's our second title in the last 4 years. So, great work by the guys. I thought we'll chase something around 200-250, so we were prepared to go and do that. We were a bit disappointed at yesterday's bowling, we conceded a bit too many runs, but they were excellent today (the spinners). It's not an ideal shot to play because of the low bounce (speaking about the sweep shot), but I have practiced playing it a lot. I try to use my feet, it's always better to play in that manner on such turning wickets. Not really (asked if it was one of the tougher wickets to bat on), it's the initial phase, you need to get the pace of the pitch, some balls spun, some went straight on - once you're in, after 30-35 balls, once the ball goes soft, you'll get to a situation where you can play your shots with confidence.
Australia started the second innings nicely, with Travis Head taking the aggressive approach, and they were ahead at close of play yesterday. However, today felt like a collective 'brain-fade' for the team, as Ashwin broke through the top-order and then Jadeja just did them in with simple straight balls. He ended with career best figures of 7/42 as Australia folded for a meek score of 113. India had a few hiccups in the chase as Rahul was out cheaply, and Rohit ran himself out. However, Pujara held fort from one end despite Kohli and Iyer falling, and then KS Bharat added the finishing touches with his unbeaten cameo of 23. India retain the trophy, and they give themselves a huge shot in the arm to make the WTC Final. Stick on for the presentations now...
13:50 Local Time, 08:20 GMT, 13:50 IST: "It is not the mountain that you need to conquer, it is yourself" - Sir Edmund Hillary. Another three day Test and once again Australia losing the plot in their minds more than on the field. For all the talk of not panicking in the sub-continent, a bizarre half an hour from the visitors where they swept their way to defeat has costed them the game and potentially the series. The Test started with Australia opting to bat first, and Usman Khawaja stepped up after a first Test failure. He was supported by Handscomb while there was a rare failure for Smith and Labuschagne. Mo Shami picked four in the first innings, while Ashwin and Jadeja chipped in with three apiece. The reply from India was rocky, as KL Rahul's lean patch continued, and most of their top-order struggled to get runs. They were reeling at 139/7 but Axar and Ashwin provided the rearguard to get the lead of Australia down to just a single run.
Murphy to Pujara, FOUR, Finished with a boundary!! An uncharacteristic chip over mid-wicket by Cheteshwar Pujara to score the winning runs. He'll take it anyway, India retain the Border-Gavaskar Trophy!!

Head to Srikar Bharat, 1 run, fuller on middle, driven to long-on
Head to Srikar Bharat, SIX, wow!! Bharat is up in confidence now, and as soon as Head tosses one up outside off he whacks it for a slog sweep. Into the stands, a courageous six
