Australia clinch a thrilling win to keep the series alive and they owe it to Maxwell. Playing his 100th T20I, his night didn't seem to be going too well after conceding 30 in the only over he bowled but he turned it around once he came out to bat and played a classic Maxwell knock to take his side to victory while also notching up a century in the process. Two more games to go in the series and it's 2-1 in India's favour at the minute. Australia's side will see some new faces in that game at Raipur on Friday as some of their players, including Maxwell, will board the plane home. That's all we've got for you tonight, we hope you enjoyed things. This is Anurag Hegde signing off on behalf of Nikhil Jd, Pradeep Krishnamurthy and Vinod Kumar LC. Take care and goodbye.

Glenn Maxwell | Player of the Match: It all went pretty quickly. It was hard work for them to bowl yorkers with so much dew. We didn’t really have a number in mind. Knew we would be in the game if we could take it down to the final over. Wade had to be out there to cash in with Axar having one over left towards the end. Wade was brilliant out there, the way he went helped me as well.

Matthew Wade | Australia captain: You don't get much better than that. It was hard work. Injury to Kane (Richardson) threw a spanner in the works and had to bowl Maxi in the last over. He played brilliantly, got a 100 in his 100th T20I. Wouldn't say I was confident, I was a bit grumpy going in at the halfway mark. Thought we were in the game at 190 after the 19th over but the last over went for 30. Richardson hurt himself so I was one over short. All in good fun in the end, Maxi probably wouldn't have got a 100 if he didn't toss up 30 in that over. The boys are in good spirits, hopefully we can pinch another one in the next game and take it down to the last game.

Suryakumar Yadav | India captain: The plan was to get Maxi out as quickly as possible. To defend 220 with so much dew, have to give something to the bowlers. Australia were always in the game. Told the boys we’ll try and get him (Maxwell) out quickly but it didn’t happen, it was insane. Axar is an experienced bowler, thought there’s always a chance for an experienced bowler even if it’s a spinner when there’s dew. Very proud of my boys.

Jason Behrendorff: It's remarkable, main thing is we got the win. Don't have too many words at the moment after what just unfolded. It's a happy hunting ground, have played here twice. Haven't gone for too many runs. It swung early on, so I took advantage of the conditions. Want to win the series ideally and we are one step closer to that. We need to take that momentum going forward. I'll give it (Player of the Match) to Maxi, he got us over the line, also it's his 100th T20I game.

India would've been very happy at the halfway stage, a scintillating century from Ruturaj Gaikwad got them past 220 once again. Conditions were great for batting and India got a massive boost towards the end - the final over bowled by Maxwell went for 30. As it turns out though, it wasn't quite enough with Maxwell being in a destructive mood. He overshadowed Gaikwad's knock with a century of his own and remedied his errors with the ball.

22:45 Local Time, 17:15 GMT, 22:45 IST: Maxwell has done something only he can do again tonight! He's due to fly back home after this game and he's given his side a parting gift of a win before heading off. Australia were always in the chase, in fact they were ahead of India throughout and a bit of magic from Maxwell got them through when things got tight. Head and Hardie got them off to a brisk start and while there was a bit of a slump in the middle with a couple of wickets falling, Maxwell kept the momentum going. Matthew Wade played an important hand too right towards the end and Maxwell got to his century in the last over. Spare a thought for Prasidh Krishna, he was given the toughest task of the night - had to defend 21 off the last over with Maxwell at the crease and an extra fielder in the ring. An absolute run-feast today, 447 runs were scored tonight and Australia come up clutch to keep the series alive 2-1.

Prasidh to Maxwell, FOUR, Maxwell does the job and Australia stay alive in the series! A stamp of authority to finish it off! Full and just outside off, Maxwell stood his ground and pumped it back over the bowler's head to win the game!

Right, final delivery, 2 needed, huge conference of Indian players, 5 of them in it. Super over if scorers end up level

Prasidh to Maxwell, FOUR, Maxwell gets to a 100! The joint fastest for Australia too! Slow loopy full toss on off-stump, Maxwell waited for it before heaving it away towards cow corner, he didn't get all of it but got it away from the fielder at deep mid-wicket

6 needed off 2. Chat between bowler and skipper. Australia still need at least a boundary here

19.4

4

Prasidh to Maxwell, FOUR, into the gap again and Australia inch closer! Slower delivery wide outside off, Maxwell reached out looked to slap that away, ended up slicing it a little but he got it into the gap at deep backward point

Vedant: Oh dear! That stumping appeal backfired for India.

Prasidh to Maxwell, SIX, Maxwell has got this away! Oh that wasn't even a bad delivery really, just short of length outside off, Maxwell shuffled across, went deep in his crease and opened the face of the blade to punch it away off the backfoot, got under it and managed to clear the ropes

16 needed off 4

19.2

Prasidh to Wade, 1 run, full and outside off, Wade shuffled across and spooned it up towards deep extra cover, just didn't carry to the fielder again

This is a tough ask for Prasidh, he's not had a great day today and he's got to deliver here in the last over

Prasidh to Wade, FOUR, great start to the over for Australia! Banged in short on middle, Wade pulled it up and over square leg, no one out in the deep and it went for one-bounce four

Right, final over and lots of pressure on both teams. More so on Prasidh probably and to make matters worse, India have an over-rate penalty. They need to have 5 in the ring. 21 runs needed off 6
