So, this latest chapter of the Trans-Tasman duel will need a decider on Sunday to sort out the winner. It's been a seesaw series so far, but the common trend has been that the chasing side has lost every time. With what we've seen today, it could mean that the toss might be a huge factor on Sunday. Let's hope we get a game befitting of a finale. On that note, this is Hari Sadanandan signing off on behalf of my mates Pradeep Krishnamurthy, Nikhil Jadhav and Venkatesh. Cheers!
Kane Williamson: The way the Australian side adjusted and the way Finch played, we knew it was going to be tough. Frustrating, but we have to adjust quite quickly. The surface surprised everybody, but it was important to adjust as quickly as possible and bounce back. Today we lacked intent and got behind the eight ball. It was a competitive total, but it was a poor batting performance by us. Something we need to touch upon on. You are going to get overs of four runs and five runs on such surfaces. But it's the big overs that matters, that give you such competitive totals. It was a match winning knock by Finch. We need to learn and adapt quickly.
Aaron Finch, Winning skipper and Player of the Match: Just hanging in there towards the end helped me. I had visions of getting 50 off 60 balls or something, but lucky to get the momentum towards the end. I was trying to hit a little too hard initially. We had to take it as deep as we could after we lost a couple of wickets. It was nice to hit a few big ones towards the closing stages. We adapted well with the ball, learning from how NZ bowled. It was important to take pace off the ball. I thought Ashton Agar was superb in the powerplay. We just wanted to take it a bit more deeper than usual. We probably struggled a bit, but got that one over which gave us the momentum going into the break. We knew that the powerplay could make or break the game. We bowled really nice.
22:12 Local Time, 09:12 GMT, 14:42 IST: In this era of fast-paced T20 games, this was the more traditional sort of a game. Statistically, 157 isn't a big target but on a slowing surface, was always going to be tricky. It got tougher for the Kiwis once the powerplay misfired and the innings never really took off at any point. Australia cleverly bowled loads of overs from their spinners, using the surface to their advantage. The pitch just got slower and slower, with the turn compounding the misery for the batsmen. NZ's only chance was if Williamson and Conway stepped up, but neither could, and they ended up well short. Australia's spinners outbowled their counterparts, and in the end, that innings from Finch, especially his finish in the 20th over is what probably made all the difference.
K Richardson to Jamieson, out Caught by Maxwell!! Australia draw level with a roaring win! Slower ball, Jamieson sees it a tad full and goes for the big shot. Hasn't got the desired distance on the stroke and Maxwell completes the formalities at long-on. Jamieson c Maxwell b K Richardson 30(18) [4s-5]
K Richardson to Jamieson, THATS OUT!! Caught!!
K Richardson to Boult, 1 run, ungainly top edge but well short of the long-on fielder. Boult backed away early and got into a tangle on this short ball
K Richardson to Jamieson, 1 run, slower ball around middle and leg, cramps Jamieson who works this past mid-wicket. They're looking for two but abort it on seeing Maxwell approaching the ball
K Richardson to Jamieson, FOUR, dug in shorter around off, Jamieson sits back and whacks the pull over mid-wicket. Splits the two men in the deep perfectly
Vishvendra Rathore: With the inclusion of Warner, Starc and Cummins, Australia have a big chance to win the T20 world cup this year.
K Richardson to Jamieson, wide, spilled well down the leg-side, Jamieson lets it pass
K Richardson to Jamieson, no run, plenty of drama! Was a slower ball outside off, Jamieson pumped it back at Richardson who couldn't hold onto a sharp catch, deflected it softly towards the stumps but it just missed. Boult did dive but would have been well short
Kane Richardson [2.0-0-12-2] is back into the attack

J Richardson to Boult, no run, pitched right up outside off, Boult makes room and push-drives this to mid-off
J Richardson to Jamieson, 1 run, more pace-off stuff from Richardson, wider lines and Jamieson cue-ends the drive towards mid-off
J Richardson to Boult, 1 run, slower ball again, around off, Boult gets a bottom edge that just trickles past the stumps in front of Wade. They pinch a run
J Richardson to Jamieson, 1 run, slower ball outside off, Jamieson waits and pumps the drive down to long-off
J Richardson to Jamieson, FOUR, just wide of short third man and it races away to the fence. Slower ball outside off, Jamieson waited for the big shot but still ended up getting it off the slice

Zampa to Boult, FOUR, wow, what a stroke! This would make a top-order player proud. Flight from Zampa, draws Boult forward and this is chipped straight over the bowler's head. Lovely timing, in fact sensational timing as it races away to the fence
