The trophy is handed over to Williamson, and his teammates join him for the photoshoots. As the NZ skipper rightly said, this was a closely-fought series and therefore this win will taste sweet for the Black Caps. Australia will be disappointed at their performance today but like their opponents, they also have quite a few takeways this series with respect their T20 World Cup plans. The Kiwis have Bangladesh coming over in what will be their final assignment of the home summer while the Aussies now have a significant break. Speaking of a break, it's time for us to take your leave. Hope you enjoyed our coverage. Until next time, this is Hari Sadanandan bidding goodbye on behalf of Pradeep Krishnamurthy, Rishi Roy and Siva. Cheers!
Kane Williamson | Winning captain: Incredibly hard-fought series. Momentum shifts throughout. Outstanding to pick up some of those learnings that we were trying to in the series. It's about the cricket that we want to play. We know how strong a side Australia is, they showed it in the last two games. We just wanted to improve our game. To some extent, we got exposed in the last game on that pitch. So it was nice to bounce back today. When you're playing three games on the same surface, you get a better idea of how to go about things. It's been a great series to be part of and I'd like to congratulate the Australian team for coming to our shores.
Aaron Finch | Losing captain: We probably weren't aggressive enough with the bat. We let them dictate terms and didn't get enough runs. Probably was the difference in the game. If one of us kicked on, could have got to 160-170. I thought the pitch played quite well today. It was slightly better today than the other day I thought. We have been talking about the gradual improvement from game 1 to game 4, and that was exciting. Would have been great to win the series but NZ are a great team. We just weren't good enough today.
Ish Sodhi | Player of the Series: In these conditions, you have to be as aggressive as possible. Thankfully, the big boys do a great job at the start to let us do our job in the middle overs. Adaptability was the key. It did hold a bit and turn last game, today it played better I think and that played into our hands. Always nice to get wickets, main thing is to build pressure and that's where I'm thankful to the others around me.
Martin Guptill | Player of the Match: It certainly was (about the intent). We took a backward step last game and wanted to change that today. Devon has opened a lot of Wellington and he was brilliant today. It was nice to spend a bit of time there and I pushed on later. Trusting to get enough on the bat is the key (behind his six-hitting).
14:58 Local Time, 01:58 GMT, 07:28 IST: Talk about being ruthless in a crunch game. The odds were stacked against the hosts before the start of this game. The momentum was with the Aussies who also won the toss on a used surface. But once the Kiwis restricted their opponents to 142, it was half the job done you'd think. And then Guptill happened. Any sniff that the Aussies might have had of repeating their heroics from the previous game, was dumped in the bin rather early. The move to open with Conway was a masterstroke, as he and Guptill provided a wicketless, fluent powerplay. The latter then just tore into the bowling, Zampa especially to kill the game. Australia were clearly 15-20 runs short, and maybe, it was a good toss to lose for NZ who were tactically smarter with their selections.
Zampa to Glenn Phillips, SIX, NZ claim the series 3-2! A towering blow from Phillips to finish the game in style. Zampa threw this up invitingly and it is dismissed over long-on. Plenty of height on the shot and comfortably over the ropes
Zampa to Glenn Phillips, no run, flatter one on middle and leg, nudged to mid-wicket
Zampa to Glenn Phillips, SIX, Guptill may not be at the crease but the pain doesn't end for Zampa at the moment. Phillips opts for the slog sweep and murders this over cow corner for a huge maximum. Picked the googly early. Just a hit away now. Will Phillips go again?

J Richardson to Guptill, out Caught by Mitchell Marsh!! Top edge, big top edge and it's gobbled up at short fine leg. Too late for Australia though, because Guptill has already sealed the fate of this game. Sharp short ball from Richardson, rushes Guptill on the pull and Marsh accepts the skier. Terrific knock from the opener. Stepped up in the crunch game. Guptill c Mitchell Marsh b J Richardson 71(46) [4s-7 6s-4]
