Quinton de Kock collects the trophy, his team-mates join him and they pose for the photographs. A long summer for South Africa, didn't go well against England and they lost the T20I series against the Aussies. But, they've capped it off in style and the scoreline justifies the same. They out-batted, out-bowled and out-fielded Australia in this 3-match ODI series. While the Proteas' next assignment is an away series against India, the Australians will lock horns against their neighbours. That's all we've got from this match. Hope you enjoyed our coverage. Until next time, it's goodbye from all of us down here..
Quinton de Kock: Very proud of the boys, we played very well this series. Makes me really proud. That's what we've been asking from the team, a bit of consistency, congrats to the guys. It's (captaincy) been good, it's been quite busy, the guys have helped me out a lot. It's not too much on my shoulder at the moment, it's been good. We didn't start well, but this series win reminds us how good we can play. We didn't play bad cricket. Guys like Kyle stepped. Guys like Klaasen and Malan have showed that they belong to this level. We are not going to take anything for granted when we go there (India). We are not a finished product at the moment. We'll just keep working.
Heinrich Klaasen, Player of the Series: It's been a fantastic couple of weeks for me. Very pleased that I contributed to the team. I had to change my mindset a little bit. I put a lot of pressure on myself on my first part of international cricket. Now I just bat freely and that seems to work. Hopefully I continue. A couple of injuries at the wrong time didn't help. Hopefully I can cement my place in the one-day side. You can't take runs for granted. Everytime you wake up, you have to push yourself to the next level. I've played a couple of series there (India), looking forward to that contest.
JJ Smuts, Player of the Match: This has been a real team performance. Our bowlers were outstanding today morning. For our bowlers to restrict them to 250 odd was exceptional performance. We stuck to our plans that we spoke. They (openers) laid the platform for us, it was quite easy as the required rate didn't cross 5. It's an outstanding achievement for us, but we are a growing side and we need to keep our feet on the ground.
Aaron Finch: We haven't been at our best. We have been good in patches, let the foot off the gas. Credit to South Africa, they put us under a lot of pressure with both bat and ball. A tough series. We have to do our basics well. We would have liked to get more runs. Our top three with the experience of myself, Warner and Smith, to not get a big score hangs on us. All round, we haven't been at our best. It's a quick turnaround, there'll be a few tired boys. It's going to be a busy time, but you're playing for Australia, what else would you want to do.
17:25 Local Time, 15:25 GMT, 20:55 IST: An emphatic win for the Proteas and they complete the whitewash - 3-0. Despite Marnus Labuschagne's homecoming ton, the home team restricted the Australians to a below-par score. In reply, the openers got South Africa to a brisk start. Hazlewood accounted for both the openers, but post that it was one-way traffic. JJ Smuts and Kyle Verreynne notched up their respective maiden half-centuries in addition to their 96-run partnership for the third wicket. While the latter fell to Zampa, the former stitched another half-century stand. The in-form Klaasen, coming on the back of scores of 123* and 51, went after the Australian bowlers and took his team over the line with an unbeaten 68, which comprised a plethora of cracking shots. Hang around for the presentations..
