The trophy has been handed to Aaron Finch and the Australian captain collects it and hands it over to his team mates as the visitors pose in front of the 'Champions' banner for the cameras. They might have lost tonight, but Australia had won the series already. The action now moves on to the 50-50 over as these two teams face-off in a 5-match ODI series starting Tuesday. Make sure to join us for the coverage of those games. For now, this is Nikhil signing off on behalf of Pradeep and Siva. Good night and take care!

Aaron Finch | Player of the Series: I think we have all the bases covered, it was an unbelievable knock by Shanaka tonight. We thought the pitch slowed a bit towards the back end of our innings. It didn't make much of a difference, batting first or second on this wicket. We are really comfortable with the depth of our team..

Shanaka | Player of the Match: I took a few balls to get in. I read the wicket well, so I didn't throw my wicket away. Process is always important. They took a brave decision to bat first, it wasn't the best idea to bat first in these conditions. We should take this momentum in the ODI series moving forward.

22:28 Local Time, 16:58 GMT, 22:28 IST: Sri Lanka's captain has played a blinder to help his team avoid a whitewash. They were down and out of the game until the 17th over, but hats off to Shanaka who has come up with a special knock in the final match of this 3-T20I series. Australia were the favourites to win this contest for the most part of it, but a 25-ball 54 by Shanaka has spoiled their party. Hazlewood who bowled exceptionally well in his first 3 overs, was absolutely taken apart in his final over. Sri Lanka got 22 runs in Hazlewood's final over, they got 18 runs in the 19th over and finished things off in the final over. Was a bit of an anticlimax with the match ending with a wide ball, but it was the immense pressure put on the Australian bowlers, that led to it all. Quite an exciting match to be honest, stay tuned for the presentation..

K Richardson to Shanaka, wide, what a win for Sri Lanka! Richardson fires a wide ball outside off and Sri Lanka have avoided the whitewash. What a knock by Shanaka, the man of the moment. From no where has the Sri Lankan captain taken his team over the line. The Australian players walk up to Shanaka and applaud his efforts. His team mates charge on to the field and make sure to give him a hug too. What a finish that was, yet to sink in!

Right then, it has come down to the wire. Sri Lanka require 1 runs off the final ball

F

K Richardson to Shanaka, SIX, fifty for Shanaka! What a knock! A full toss by K Richardson and Shanaka has smoked the freebie right over the bowler's head for half-a-dozen. Malinga is pumped up and so are the other Sri Lankan players in the dugout. Karunaratne walks up to his captain and gives him a tight hug

K Richardson to Shanaka, FOUR, Shanaka is playing a captain's knock! A length ball by Kane Richardson and Shanaka has slapped it to long-off. The power was good enough to beat the fielder near the boundary. Sri Lanka require 7 runs off the final 2 balls!

J Richardson to Shanaka, 1 run, 50-run stand up for the 7th wicket. Too full, too quick and Shanaka has drilled this to long-off for one

18.6

J Richardson to Shanaka, wide, not a great call by umpire Dharmasena, because this was inside the tramline. Wade isn't happy, but Finch asks his players to keep calm. Was a perfect wide yorker by Richardson, but unfortunately that will be counted as an extra, courtesy of a poor call by the umpire

4

J Richardson to Shanaka, FOUR, this is some insane striking. A slower delivery by J Richardson, right into the slot and Shanaka has heaved this away to deep mid-wicket for four more. The Sri Lankan fans are loving it, Australian bowlers under pressure

J Richardson to Karunaratne, 1 run, almost a yorker length ball on off, Karunaratne squeezes it to long-on for one
