That brings an end to the proceedings from this game. Join us for the second T20I on Thursday (Jan 6th). For now, it's a goodbye from us here. Cheers!

Kane Williamson is the Man of the Match for his unbeaten 73 off 55 balls

Williamson ( Man of the Match): "It was a sweet win. We lost wickets early but Grandhomme supported me well. Credit to the bowling attack. Bangladesh came really hard with the bat. We got the momentum back and the partnership was fantastic towards the end. Great to see the debutants do well for us. Our slower bowlers did a good job too. Looking forward to the next game."

Mortaza: "I think we were 15-20 runs short. We didn't bat well. Mahmudullah played a really good knock. The target was decent but Williamson took the game away from us along with Grandhomme. We fought really well and need to improve our bowling in the next game."

Smiles all round. The players exchange handshakes and walk off the field. What an emphatic show from the Kiwis. Kane Williamson has lead from the front here. Chasing 142, they had an early hiccup. Lost early wickets and they needed someone to steady the innings and the skipper came to the fore. He found a good ally in Grandhomme. Both strung together an unbeaten 81-run stand for the fifth wicket. Ensured that there were no more wobbles and motored their way along to hand Kiwis a comfortable victory in the end. Bangladesh's woes continue in this tour. They have some soul searching to do and need to come back stronger in the next game.. Stay tuned for the presentations..
