ICYMI: Ross Taylor is now the leading run-scorer for New Zealand in ODIs.
The trophy has been presented to Latham as his mates rally around to pose for the photographs. A loud yell of 'yay' ring around as they wrap up the celebrations. That's all from us for the New Zealand - Bangladesh ODI series. A three match Test series awaits both these sides now; the first one's starting on 28 February in Hamilton. Do remember to tune in for that. A huge thanks for your company fellas. Until next time, this is Raju Peethala wishing Sayonara on behalf of Pradeep Krishnamurthy, Nikhil Jadhav and our scoring whizz Harish Vootakuru.
Tom Latham, winning captain: Probably couldn't have asked any better. We managed a few partnerships in the middle and we had a bit of fun towards the end. We got a good squad of players and to see Tim come back and bowl at a good pace and swing the ball was very refreshing. We are doing alright in all departments and the challenge for us is to keep getting better each time the bowlers take wickets upfront and the challenge for us also through the middle periods where we want to take wickets. We are always trying to learn and this series is no different.
Mashrafe Mortaza, losing captain: The boys are disappointed, but Sabbir got hundred and that's a positive. We didn't take wickets during crucial times and after that Neesham's knock changed the momentum.
Martin Guptill, Player of the Series: Nice to comeback after an injury break and get the series win. Couple of things I have worked on and will continue to work this week. I will get back to playing domestic games and hopefully find some form. It's going be a little different (playing red ball cricket) and I'm looking forward to get some hit in the middle.
Tim Southee, Man of the Match - Nice to contribute to the team and series win. Been a little off in the last one year, working on things to get them right. We try to get the best out of each other, there's a healthy competition in the team. It was a great batting display as they played their roles throughout the innings.
18:47 local: Well, if you have just tuned in and trying to comprehend this game through the scorecard, let that not fool you into making false conclusions. Yes, Sabbir scored his maiden ODI hundred, but it all looked like a personal milestone rather than showing intent to win. Bangladesh gave up the chase midway into the innings when they lost their fifth wicket - Mahmudullah at 61, inside 15 overs. Nevertheless, they will be really proud of themselves for there has been a decent improvement with the ball and Sabbir's innings, of course. With this win, New Zealand extend their unbeaten record across all formats at the Dunedin Oval and Bangladesh on the other hand, are yet to taste victory in this Antipodean nation.
Southee to Sabbir Rahman, out Caught&Bowled!! A wild swing from Sabbir and he loses his bat in the process, thick top-edge and Southee runs forward to snaffle a simple return catch. Southee to Sabbir Rahman, out Rubel Run Out!! 1 run completed. There was never a two there. Was just a hope and it remains as one. Sabbir charged out of his crease and powered this straight back over the bowler's head, called for two straightaway and perhaps underestimated the athletic skills of Mitch Santner at mid-on, he ran back and fired in a pinpoint accurate throw at the bowling end, Southee completes the formalities. Rubel run out (Santner/Southee) 3(3)
