New Zealand continue their home success run, and the pitches here maintain their anti-crumbling stance, with somebody secretly mixing reinforced cement concrete into the soil as days turn over. Well that pleasant thought should wrap things up well for us, as I, Vineet Anantharaman, sign off in the hope of the next one not having to wait for day four to spice up, on behalf of Pradeep Krishnamurthy, Hariprasad Sadanandan and our scorer Harish. Until Wellington, ta ta!!

Kane Williamson | New Zealand skipper | Man of the Match: I suppose as a batting unit we wanted to bat long on that surface. I was fortunate to be part of a number of partnerships and to have spent time in the middle that put us in that situation. We knew coming here today would need a big push with the ball with the surface not offering much. We thought the cracks might open up a little more. We also knew that they had a lot of quality in their batting and it was nice that we stuck around. I thought the bowlers were outstanding throughout the Test, there was a bit of swing, a bit of bounce which we tried to extract as much as we could. Credit to the boys for the way they bowled and pick twenty wickets. It was an outstanding opening partnership; Tom (Latham) is churning them out and for Jeet (Raval), who's made a number of contributions already, to make an extra large one helped put us in that situation. Both sides will be better prepared for the next game and we know the surface will be different in Wellington, so we'll have to adapt and not rest on this performance. Had the game gone on to the fifth day I am sure we would have seen a lot more spin from both sides.

Mahmudullah | Bangladesh skipper: The wicket was really good to bat on and we missed the opportunity in the first innings having been 120/1 at a stage. Obviously Tamim was outstanding; he's been performing really well for a decade for us. It is a learning curve for us and they have some pace as well; they would need some consistency out there. Their bowlers were bowling in some really good areas that made it really tough for us, but there is no benefit of scoring when you on the losing side.

16:25 Local Time: The scorecard might tell you the victory is by an innings, but make no mistake, the Kiwis have really been stretched today. Yea right, it was meant to be a walkover, but not when Soumya Sarkar and Mahmudullah were in some over-my-dead-body mood. They braved it all - reverse swing, bodyline, spin into the rough, swing - but alas, the new ball and a certain Trent Boult was a little too much to ask for. And once he opened an end up, three hours into the day, there really wasn't much from the tail to delay the inevitable. What Bangladesh will regret though is how cheaply they crumbled in the first innings when batting was clearly at it easiest. And it also doesn't help when the entire bowling attack is playing on Kiwi soil for the first time, in fact it leads to a 715-situation. Okay, stay on, we'll get you what the captains mumble ..

Southee to Ebadat Hossain, out Caught by Watling!! That'll do. Or maybe technology will. So it's one of those nagging deliveries just outside off, which Hossain - proving why he's a number eleven - sticks his bat out to and pokes at, with a faint sound as it goes through to the keeper. But Ebadat's surprised, challenging almost immediately. Now, now, it's that yesterday's Mahmudullah's moment all over again -- the one where the snick on the RTS is one frame after it goes past the bat. And the third umpire does what he didn't do yesterday, go with obvious logic. Ebadat Hossain c Watling b Southee 0(4)

Southee to Ebadat Hossain, THATS OUT!! Caught!!

Southee to Ebadat Hossain, no run, 134.2kph, pitched up on the stumps. Quietly jammed out

Southee to Ebadat Hossain, no run, good length on middle. An awkward defence

Ebadat Hossain, right handed bat, comes to the crease

Southee to Mahmudullah, out Caught by Boult!! No he hasn't thrown in the towel, it's been rudely snatched away from him. With everybody at the boundary, Mahmudullah tried to crash at a seemingly harmless short-wide one outside off in the hope of clearing someone, somewhere. But just couldn't keep it down - slashing it flat and hard down deep point's throat. But take nothing away, it's been an innings for the ages, so much so that Williamson runs all the way to shake hands. Mahmudullah c Boult b Southee 146(229) [4s-21 6s-3]
