The Bangladeshi players can hold their heads high. They lost the first two ODIs but showed terrific character post that. They won their first ODI on New Zealand soil and then won their first T20I game in New Zealand as well. They also fought till the end in the final T20I but couldn't get across the line due to a lacklustre batting performance. New Zealand, on the other hand, were not at their best in this series. They would be pleased though as they have finished 2023 on a high with a win. On that note, we are signing off and we wish you all a Happy New Year in advance. Keep following Cricbuzz for fascinating cricket updates all around the globe. Till then, goodbye and cheers!

Shanto and Santner have been presented with the trophy as the series ended level on 1-1. Big smiles on their faces as they pose for the cameras

Najmul Hossain Shanto: Bowlers did a great job but the batsmen didn't get the runs today. The batters got starts but didn't take it deep, that is the mistake we did today.

Shoriful Islam has been awarded the Man of the Series award for his brilliant performance with the ball. He took 6 wickets in the series and is definitely a rising star for Bangladesh

Mitchell Santner | Player of the Match: It was nice to get the win. I was changing my pace and got good assistance from the pitch, the seamers were brilliant in the powerplay. The pacers used the wind and bowled really well. The bowlers did the job upfront.

16:18 Local Time, 03:18 GMT, 08:48 IST: The rain hasn't relented and the match has been officially called off. New Zealand win the game by 17 runs according to DLS method and level the series. A briliant bowling performance from the hosts enabled them to bowl out Bangladesh for 110. Santner was the pick of the bowlers for them as he controlled the runs and took a 4-fer. It seemed as if it will be a walk in the pak for New Zealand but it was not to be. Mahedi bowled in probing channels and provided a couple of important breakthroughs to his side. He first got rid of Seifert and then outsmarted Mitchell. Another wicket fell in the powerplay as Shoriful knocked Phillips over with a jaffa. A collision mid-pitch between Allen and Chapman resulted in the latter sacrificing his wicket. Allen was looking good but Shoriful once again produced the goods to nip him out. At 49/5, the Kiwis were behind on DLS as the dark clouds were building up. But, Neesham and Santner got together and kept the scoreboard ticking. They struck a few timely boundaries with the former taking the role of the aggresor. That was good enough to push the Kiwis 17 runs ahead on DLS when the rain arrived. And that was the game as the players couldn't return to the playing field. Stick around for the presentations...

16:00 Local Time, 03:00 GMT, 08:30 IST: The rain has arrived and the groundsmen rush in with the covers. New Zealand are 17 runs ahead on DLS. It has gone very dark and it's a sharp spell of shower as well. Thunder and lightning accompany the rain. If the rain doesn't relent, New Zealand will win the game. Stick around for further updates...
