PLAYER OF THE MATCH : Shoaib Malik

Pakistan weren't excellent, but they got the things done and go 1-0 up in the three-match series. Matches come thick and fast, especially if they are of the shortest format of the game. We will be back tomorrow for the second game as the visitors look to keep the series alive. Cricket is going on elsewhere and you can always follow the live scores on our site. On that note, cheers and bye..
Babar Azam - We needed this win badly. The bowlers were good for us, both at the start and during the death overs. They executed the plans well. Didn't think the pitch would slow down, but the bowlers planned well. Shoaib was excellent, so was Ahsan. Need for some improvement with our batting in the powerplay overs though
Shoaib Malik (MoM) - The ball was coming well with the new ball, but it wasn't easy later on, needed to find the gaps. Credit to the bowlers, fielding was exceptional, overall - it was a good performance. When the pitch is tough or when you're chasing, you need to give yourself a chance, take the game deep. Rotate strike, take singles and kill a few overs so that you can produce boundaries at the end
Mahmudullah - 'It was a good contest, but the wicket surprised me a bit. It was harder to play shots once the ball got older and softer, thought the bowlers did well. Fell 15 runs short today, probably gave away too many boundaries, need to finish stronger - things to do in the next match. Biplob is bowling well and so are the pacers. We missed a few chances, need to do well in the field. The hospitality has always been good in Pakistan, very happy with that.'
Pakistan never went beyond the second gear as they chased 142. They didn't need to, Bangladesh simply left their bowlers with too much to do. The bowlers did respond well, kept with their discipline and made it as difficult as possible for the home batsmen. Babar Azam was dismissed for a duck, Hafeez looked good, but he flattered to deceive. Debutant Ahsan Ali looked solid enough, but it was the wise head of Shoaib Malik, who kept the chase going. The 37-year old completed his 8th T20I half-century and the hosts killed the chase in the final over
Soumya Sarkar to Rizwan, 2 runs, Mithun drops a dolly at deep mid-wicket and Pakistan win by 5 wickets. Anti-climax to end the first T20I, slower ball outside off and Rizwan swung across the line, got a massive top-edge as it lobbed towards deep mid-wicket. Mithun had plenty of time as he settled, but the ball hit his palm and popped out
Soumya Sarkar to Shoaib Malik, 1 run, slower wide ball from Sarkar, Malik drives it towards cover and chances a single off Mahmudullah's arm, a direct hit would have left him struggling
Soumya Sarkar to Shoaib Malik, 2 runs, short of a good length and well wide of off, slugged wide of long-on and Malik comes back for the second
Soumya Sarkar [2.0-0-17-0] is back into the attack
Five needed from the last over, can Soumya Sarkar conjure up some magic? The keeper is up to the stumps

Al-Amin to Shoaib Malik, 1 run, on a good length and following Malik as he came down the track, gets an inside edge and the ball rolls wide of mid-wicket for a single
Al-Amin to Rizwan, 1 run, the slower short ball from Al-Amin, Rizwan had to wait on it as he pulled it past square leg for a single
Al-Amin to Rizwan, no run, Al-Amin shortens his length as Rizwan came running down the track, was looking to cut and is beaten on the top-edge
Al-Amin to Rizwan, no run, slower leg-cutter on off, Rizwan leans across and pushes it back at the bowler
Al-Amin to Rizwan, 2 runs, just wide of cover, fuller length delivery on off, Rizwan was early into the drive, was playing with a slightly closed face and the ball looped agozingly wide of the diving cover fielder
Mohammad Rizwan, right handed bat, comes to the crease
Al-Amin to Imad Wasim, out Bowled!! That crept right through Wasim's bat - he looks at the pitch and walks off disconsolately - the slower short ball from Al-Amin, bowled from the back of the hand, Imad was way too early on the pull, the ball stayed very low as well and he had no chance. The middle stump takes a beating and Al-Amin has his first for the match. Imad Wasim b Al-Amin 6(4) [4s-1]
Al-Amin to Imad Wasim, THATS OUT!! Bowled!!
Al-Amin Hossain [3.0-0-14-0] is back into the attack
