The Bangladeshis were humiliated in the Test series, thrashed in this ODI series. Their tour isn't over. There's a 2-match T20I series coming up starting on Thursday. Do join us there. Until then, it's a goodbye from all of us down here.
AB de Villiers - stand-in captain: It was fun. Easy to captain a side when they are playing so well. We took one game at a time. We played a clinical game of cricket. We never gave them a sniff. The bowling was spot on. Impressed with the talent coming through. Excited by the two youngsters. And also Temba was good with the bat.
Faf du Plessis is the Man of the Match. He isn't here to collect his trophy. His schoolmate and friend - AB de Villiers will collect it on his behalf.
Quinton de Kock, Man of the Series: The new balls have come on very nicely. It was a tough series against England. Good to contribute here. All wickets were similar. 168 (knock in the first ODI) stands out the most - probably most favourite. He (Temba Bavuma) keeps me on the feet. Nice little change up. New blood and he did well. It'd have been nice if both of us had kicked on. It's (T20) a different ball game. Bangladesh will be a stronger team in the shorter format. Lets see what happens.
Mashrafe Mortaza: All three matches, it was so difficult. Two T20Is are left. Hope the boys play with passion. Bowling was a big concern and so was the batting. We didn't get any partnerships going. We need to get early wickets in these conditions. We can't make any excuses. This is something we can learn. T20s will be fresh.
Chasing a mammoth target of 370, the visitors got off to a very bad start losing five wickets within the 15th over. The fate of the match was always heading towards one way. Shakib battled out and registered a fifty and was involved in a 67-run stand with Sabbir Rahman. Once, the former was dismissed by Markram, the rest of the batsmen just surrendered to the home team without a fight. AB de Villiers used six bowlers and each one of them chipped with wickets. A complete all-round performance from the African side. Who'll get the Man of the Match award? We'll get to know in a short while.
17:12 Local Time, 15:12 GMT, 20:42 IST: South Africa blank Bangladesh 3-0. Yet another one-sided affair. Everything went right for the hosts from the toss. Faf had no hesitations to bat on a belter and the batsmen took full advantage of it. The openers set the perfect foundation with a brisk century stand. Bangladesh, in the form of Mehidy Hasan, picked two quick wickets and that was the only moment in this match where Bangladesh found an opening. But, Bangladesh allowed their opponents to settle. du Plessis and Markran shared a century stand for the third wicket. Just when the South African skipper was approaching towards a ton, a lower back injury forced him to leave the field. Bangladesh were at their best with the ball in the final ten overs, but enough damage was done as the Proteas ended up posting their highest-ever ODI total versus Bangladesh.
