Lots of soul searching to do for Sri Lanka. They will now have to win the remaining two matches, else they will have to settle for a home series defeat, something that doesn't augur well with the Champions Trophy coming up. Anyway, that's all we have from this game. We hope you enjoyed our coverage. Join us for the second ODI which is on Tuesday. Until next time, this is Sriram signing off on behalf of Kumar Abhisekh Das and our scorer Siva. Goodnight!
Mortaza: Obviously, it was an important win for us. It was a perfect game. We believe if we play our perfect game, it is difficult to beat us. If we look at the history of this ground, 260-270 was a par total. But we accelerated well towards the end and that helped us reach 324.
Tharanga: We should've batted well. I think we bowled badly and were poor in the field. We need to have a chat and come up with a better performance in the next game. We lost early wickets and didn't execute our plans today.
Tamim, Man of the Match: I had a lot of opportunities but didn't convert the starts. The past is past and whenever there is an opportunity, I will score and improve my batting average. There was a time when they were bowling really well. So the plan was me batting as long as possible and that helped us get 325.
22:37 Local Time: Smiles all round. Bangladesh deserve this. They really do. They have out-batted, out-bowled and out-fielded Sri Lanka. Chasing 325 was always going to be an arduous task. Mortaza got Bangladesh off to a dream start, prising out Gunathilaka in the first over of the innings. Mendis and Tharanga followed him soon. Chandimal and Gunaratne steadied the ship for a while but the latter couldn't convert his start. Chandimal waged a lone battle but lost his wicket trying to up the ante. Thisara Perera struck some lusty blows towards the end but the ever mounting run-rate proved to be a demon and devoured the hosts. Earlier, on the back of Tamim's century and fifties from Shakib and Sabbir propelled Bangladesh to 324. They backed up their batsmen with some disciplined bowling and romped home with ease in the end. Presentations to follow, stay tuned..
Mustafizur to Thisara Perera, out Caught by Mahmudullah!! The party is over. Bangladesh win by 90 runs. Fizz has the final say in the innings. Perera's fabulous knock comes to an end. Lands the famous off-cutter on a fuller length around off, Perera went for the swipe, gets it off the cue-end and sends it into the night sky towards long-off. Mahmudullah darted in forward, kept his eyes on the ball and gobbles it up. Thisara Perera c Mahmudullah b Mustafizur 55(35) [4s-4 6s-2]
Mustafizur to Thisara Perera, THATS OUT!! Caught!!

Taskin Ahmed to Lahiru Kumara, no run, attacks the stumps with this full ball, but Kumara has hit bat in line to barricade it
Taskin Ahmed to Lahiru Kumara, no run, hits the deck hard, boings in a bouncer, Kumara flinches out of the firing line
Taskin Ahmed to Lahiru Kumara, no run, smart from Taskin. Hurls it full outside off asking Kumara to reach for it. But he resists and lets it go
Taskin Ahmed to Lahiru Kumara, no run, bumper from Taskin, forces Kumara to duck under it
Taskin Ahmed to Thisara Perera, 1 run, slants it full outside off, Perera throws his bat and carves it away to sweeper cover. Had to amend his expectations of coming back for the second
Taskin Ahmed to Thisara Perera, no run, clever. Harpoons it very full outside off, Perera strangely lets it pass. Thought it would be called a wide but it was just about inside the tramlines
Taskin Ahmed [8.0-0-40-1] is back into the attack

Mehedi Hasan to Thisara Perera, 1 run, tad quicker on the stumps, shaved away to deep mid-wicket
Lahiru Kumara, left handed bat, comes to the crease
Mehedi Hasan to Sandakan, out Sandakan Run Out!! Another one bites the dust. Slower and turning in on middle and leg, Sandakan looks to turn it away into the on-side, in the process gets it off the inner half to short fine. TP called him for a single, he was slow to start but still set off. Fizz collected the ball and effected a direct-hit at the non-striker's end. Sandakan was nowhere in the frame. Sandakan run out (Mustafizur) 3(7)
Mehedi Hasan to Sandakan, THATS OUT!! Run Out!!
The Bangaldeshis are confident. A run-out check has been referred upstairs. Oh yes! Sandakan is struggling and is way short of his crease. OUT flashes on the screen
