That's all for this game. USA take a deserved 1-0 lead. They came out and played positively, signaling their intent and showing how the margins are very fine in the T20 game. Bangladesh seemed a bit stuck in T20 cricket from a bygone era - too conservative in the powerplay and struggling to get the big hits in the slog overs. A quick turnaround for both these teams who will be action once again on Thursday. We'll see you then, bye for now...
Harmeet Singh | Player of the Match: Great feeling. This is our home ground and we backed ourselves to take that advantage. We came out hard to not give Bangladesh a feeling that we a walkover. The way cricket is going, 12 an over is very reachable and I backed myself to score. Just needed to connect a few balls, and back ourselves till the end. I think we did a good job today of taking down their best bowler. Corey (Anderson) brings a lot of experience, he knows how to stay calm under pressure and finish off big games. We all look up to him.
Monank Patel: Credit goes to our spinners for bowling in the right areas and giving us a target we could chase down. They gave us crucial wickets and the left-right combination worked well. I think we started well but there were too many dot balls in the middle overs, that's something we need to work on. But credit to Harmeet and Corey for the way they finished things. I think we are building some good momentum, need to continue the same way.
Najmul Shanto: We didn't bat well. We started well but in the middle lost a couple of wickets. We needed to score more and then it could have been defended. We didn't play on good wickets in Zimbabwe, so the batters are struggling. But it is a mental thing and the batters can come back. The spinners bowled really well, our seamers didn't execute their plans. Hope they can execute better.
13:34 Local Time, 18:34 GMT, 00:04 IST: A day to remember for American cricket as their boys have beaten a full member nation, and made the visitors look rather mediocre in the process. Chasing 153, USA got a decent start through Steven Taylor and Monank Patel, before the latter was run out at the non striker's end. Adries Gous scored some quick runs before holing out in the deep. The chase went a bit astray in the middle overs as Bangladesh's spinners kept things tight. However, Harmeet Singh wrestled the momentum for his side with back-to-back sixes against Mustafizur. Corey Anderson from the other end also added some finishing touches as he used all his experience to stay ahead in the chase. A memorable win for USA against a Bangladesh team that was super tepid in their performance.
Mahmudullah to Harmeet Singh, FOUR, flat outside off, Harmeet chips it over extra cover and it trickles away to the boundary. An unprecidented upset here. USA defeat Bangladesh by 5 wickets and take a lead in this series.
Mahmudullah to Corey Anderson, 1 run, flat delivery on off, Anderson stays back and slaps it towards long-on
Mahmudullah to Corey Anderson, SIX, pushed fuller on off, spins away a bit. Anderson with a big stride forwards negates that spin and slams it over wide long-on for a biggie. Just one hit away now!
Mahmudullah [2.0-0-9-0] is back into the attack
Equation: 9 off 6 balls. USA are in the driver's seat
