Windies take the Trophy and rejoice. So many happy faces for the Islanders. They have been superb. Their bowlers spit fire and their batters did enough damage to put it well beyond Bangladesh. The visitors have been on a free fall as far as the Tests are concerned. The last few series haven't gone to plan for them and they would be gutted with that as they know they are a better side than what the recent scorecards suggest. Our cricket coverage continues and we will get you all the details from all over the world as the cricketing platter continues to dish out some fascinating stuff. This is KAD signing off on behalf of Venky!
Kraigg Brathwaite: I think the confidence of the guys was high. The planning and execution made me happy. Mayers's partnership with Blackwood was superb. Bangladesh bowled well. I think there is always room for improvement. We should try to bat over 100 overs almost every time. One should be a little decisive in this format. Kemar is a legend. His attitude off the field is amazing. I am glad for his success. Mayers is special. He is a match-winner. He is a special talent. He just needs to realise his talent and believe in himself. Australia at home will be a challenging team. It is all about attitude and being tough.
Shakib Al Hasan: We always knew it was going to be a tough series. There are a lot of positives to take from this series. We will have time to think now and try to get better in Tests. In Tests, when we travel most sides don't do well. We need to be mentally tough. We can be a very competitive side. We have improved in the pace department in the last 3-4 years. Their work ethic has been fantastic. We need to play well as a team to win Tests. We will be very competitive in white-ball cricket. We will put on a show in the ODIs and T20Is.
Kyle Mayers | Player of the Match and Player of the Series: We were in a bit of trouble. I thought staying positive will help and it worked out nicely. I think it is one of the best. I wanted to do well in this series and did so. I try to utilize the conditions with the ball. I carry the same mindset in all the formats. In Test cricket, you play lower percentage of shots and so on as the format changes. Kemar [Roach] is a role model. Every time he steps on to the field, he gives his 110 percent.
16:12 Local Time, 20:12 GMT, 01:42 IST: Windies win this and win this comprehensively. They win by 10 wickets. Bangladesh were shot out earlier in the day. The 24 ICC Test Championship points have been scalped as well. They have been clinical throughout the series. And deserve to win the series. Bangladesh did put up a better fight in this game but were still far away from being impressive. Bangladesh would be especially gutted with their batting as they just didn't come to the party at all. Windies though ticked all the boxes. Back for the presentation in a bit.
