A clinical performance from USA in this series as they close it out 4-0. They've got a series against Bangladesh to look forward to before the all important World Cup. That's it from us here. Take care and goodbye.
Monank Patel | USA Captain: Really happy with the way we played. It was a complete team effort. Happy to see everyone contributing. The way our top-order is performing, we have a really good chance fo doing well and play some good cricket. Everyone is gelling really well. We have a chance to play Bangladesh so we’ll be well prepared before the World Cup.
Harmeet Singh | Player of the Series: I wanted it go this way, dont keep too many expectations. Glad I could contribute. The most important thing is I back myself. I practice hitting yorkers, try and get uncomfortable in the nets. I only play white-ball cricket so dont need to worry about focussing on different things. The mindset is very clear, if its there to be hit, it needs to go. Want to contribute to the team. Winning 4-0 against Canada is a formidable achievement. Were going to come hard at the World Cup.
Nitish Kumar | Player of the Match: Bit of a weird feeling, been like that for a couple of weeks playing against Canada. Have a lot of friends there, they’re good buddies. We had to target the side with the breeze. Just tried to minimize dot balls, got a bit lucky today but that’s all part of the game. It’s been good, been playing against these guys for so long, starting to gel nicely.
Saad Zafar | Canada Captain: USA outplayed in all three departments. We have a lot of areas to improve in. We had an inexperienced bowling attack and haven’t done very well in the powerplay. Our fielding also has been sub-par. Those are the areas we need to improve on before the World Cup. As a batting unit we haven’t done too bad, there have been times when we’ve lost wickets in clumps. People have done well and it’s all about being consistent. We’re playing USA in the first game of the World Cup, very excited, just need to pull up our socks a little bit.
13:26 Local Time, 18:26 GMT, 23:56 IST: That was a close game! After posting 168, the Canadians couldn't have started their defence much better. They picked up 3 wickets early and had the opposition under deep trouble. That's where they faltered though, they didn't land the killer blow when the USA were down and out. A couple of catches and a run-out chance went begging and that meant that the USA, led by a 104-run stand between Nitish Kumar and Corey Anderson, were able to recover. The game took another interesting turn with the departure of both the set batters but Canada just couldn't press home the advantage as USA held their nerve under pressure to get over the line.
