That's all we have from this game at Eden Park, which was an absolute batting belter. As a bowler, you should just wipe off these matches from your memory. Australia conceded just 19 runs in three overs (17th-19th) towards the end. That might have been the difference between the two teams. Australia will stay here in Auckland, while New Zealand will travel to Hamilton to take on England on Sunday. If England win big, they have a chance of making it to the final. Do join us there. Until then, it's goodbye from all of us down here.
David Warner: What a fantastic effort by the guys. You just got to take scoreboard out of it. From 0/60, we brought it back; you couldn't err on this ground. Fantastic knock from NZ as well. I have said from day one, have a lot of energy, have fun, keep a smile on your face. (Advice to the bowlers) Keep trying to execute the best ball. Fantastic surface - credit to the curator Lots of fours and sixes, that is fantastic for the batsmen. 240 odd wasn't enough. Early wickets will be the key.
Kane Williamson: It was a very good surface, a very small ground. Both sides batted outstandingly well. We've seen scores on the lower side here. We though we had a good score at the halfway stage. It's a tough one. It's hard to be too critical. Mitch (Santner) - He's been outstanding for us. He has been going extremely well, but injuries happen. We need to bounce back quickly. We need to be nice and smart (in Hamilton)
D'Arcy Short, Man of the Match: Great run chase for the boys. Feels good. We knew we had the firepower; we had to go hard and get off to a flyer. Chasing 240, we had to just attack. Definitely more fun being a batsman. Just kept backing ourselves.
What a win for the Aussies! England must be thrilled with this result. This is the highest total to be chased down in T20Is. Chasing a huge score, Warner and D'Arcy Short came out all guns blazing and got Australia off to a flying start. Both the left-handed batsmen scored their respective fifties and raced to 114 in eight overs. Ish Sodhi removed the Australian captain and bowled a decent spell (4-0-35-1), but the runs kept leaking at the other end. Wheeler was taken to the cleaners and the nightmare came to a premature end as he was taken off the attack for bowling two above-waist no-balls. Finch performed the final rites by scoring 36 off just 14 balls.
de Grandhomme to Finch, SIX, wow! A low full toss, Finch stays in his crease and bludgeons it over long-on for a maximum and Australia win by five wickets
de Grandhomme to Carey, 1 run, squeezes a full ball to deep point
Alex Carey, left handed bat, comes to the crease
de Grandhomme to Stoinis, out Stoinis Run Out!! 1 run completed. Yorker length wide of off, carved wide of point and they decide to come back for the second. Weeler fires a flat throw at the stumps from the deep and the keeper does the rest. Stoinis is short. Stoinis run out (Ben Wheeler/Seifert) 4(5)
de Grandhomme to Stoinis, THATS OUT!! Run Out!!
de Grandhomme to Finch, 1 run, mistimes the lofted on-drive and the ball falls between long-on and deep mid-wicket
de Grandhomme to Finch, wide, slower bumper, but the length is too short. Finch lets it go. Called as wide
de Grandhomme to Stoinis, 1 run, full ball outside off, Stoinis reaches out and carves it through covers
Colin de Grandhomme [3.0-0-45-1] is back into the attack
