England might have lost the game but they will be happy to have been part of such an entertaining Test match. They had their chances, but they failed to grab the key moments, which cost them the game and the series. The cricketing caravan moves to Chennai now for the final Test. Ashwin mentioned that Mumbai and Chennai are two places where the pitch offers bounce for the spinners. No doubt he''s itching to take the field on his home ground. Coach Kumble said that they would discuss the team only after having a look at the 22 yards at Chepauk. Meanwhile, Cook has admitted that playing a fourth seamer here was a wrong choice and it will be interesting to see their combination on December 16. Cyclone Vardah is currently threatening Chennai, but things are expected to improve just before the game. Hopefully rain does not play spoilsport. On that optimistic note, we take leave from you. Goodbye!

Kohli: "It's a very special feeling to win the series. I was just having a chat with Ashwin in that victory lap, this is the ground where we lost the moment to England four years ago and lost the series mentally. But, the way the crowd came out and supported us gave us a lot of energy to push through the tough moments. Conceding 400 was a tough challenge but to get a lead of 231 just deflated the opposition. We saw their body language on the field. This game was all wrapped up as soon as we got that 231-run lead. We know that this wicket offers bounce as well, so the adjustment was very important. Credit to all the batsmen for doing that, especially Vijay. I could see the frustration in his mind of not getting the runs. To come out and clear that and to play a champion knock for his team speaks volumes of his character. And Jayant's knock was very special. Maiden hundred comes at the home of cricket in India in front of a big crowd. I think it couldn't have gotten any better for him. I was pretty focussed on this game. I knew we were 2-0 up and we had the chance to make it 3-0 and go to Chennai and really express ourselves freely. I was a bit nervous with 400 on the board, but I knew I have to score many for us to have a chance. I kept the targets realistic. The first thing was to level the scores and as we got that I thought why not get a 50-run lead and then we got the momentum. It's all about the body language and the belief you have in your mind and I am very grateful that it came at the right time. This (series win) is probably the sweetest win of all that we won in the last 14-15 months. It was a test of patience on this wicket. I felt the advantage we had was England were a spinner short and their two spinners were very tired. They bowled 50-plus overs and we knew bad balls would come our way. If you don't bowl your fast bowlers on a regular basis on pitches like these, they will lose confidence as well. So when they come in they are thinking of stopping runs rather than thinking of wickets and we sensed that and we went after them hard. I think it was a brilliant cricket wicket. Ashwin obviously a champion bowler, we are running out of words to describe him. He's always right up there to win the Man of the Match every Test we play and he's won so many Man of the Series awards as well. So you can understand the impact that he's had on this team going to No. 1 and to see where we stand today, I think 50-60 percent of that has been Ashwin's effort to be honest. The batsmen have only played second fiddle to his performances, he's contributed with the bat as well. I am just delighted to have a guy like him in the team. Any team would love to have Ashwin in their squad right now, such an intelligent cricketer, knows his fields, knows his bowling, knows his batting and the opposition knows that. So it's very difficult to get past him and a real boost for team India. We spoke about their batsmen hardly able to defend six balls in a row. Defence is a very important aspect in India, if you don't defend well it's tough to counter the bowling that we have. We sensed that they don't have enough faith in the way they went about their business. Even in the second innings we knew that they played a lot of high risk shots and it was just a matter of couple of wickets and it's going to crumble pretty quickly. That's the one difference between the two sides I feel. We enjoy defending balls rather than thinking of it as I want to score runs now."

Virat Kohli is the Man of the Match

Cook: "I thought 400 was a pretty good score on that wicket. Keaton (Jennings) played really well. 230 odd for 2, we had a chance of 450 maybe. But, historically it's a good score on this ground. We had our chances in the second innings. They were 300/6, obviously Virat played an extraordinary innings. We dropped him on 60 odd and (Jayant) Yadav played well too. He gave him a couple of chances as well. We were in the game for three days, but weren't good enough to take the chances. Full credit to India. In hindsight the fourth seamer was an option. We really wanted to have a look at what the fourth seamer would look like. Our two best spinners have been Mo and Rash. Maybe if we had bowled first, there would have been better control. It was a mistake to go for the fourth seamer. Would have, could have and all that kind of stuff isn't really good enough. We haven't been good enough to get over the line. When you get a team doing 160 overs in the field, even the spinners get tired. Even Ashwin would get tired if we are batting long and that is quite natural. We scored almost 600 runs on this wicket. To me, we batted better than we have done in the previous two games. I would say that we lost the game because of our missed chances and of course a third spinner would have been handy. Virat is having one of those years you dream of as a player and as a captain. He leads from the front, he scores a hell a lot of runs. That's a huge amount of credit to him and clearly one of the great batsmen of our generation. Certainly it's very hard to bowl to him in these kind of conditions when he's in this form."

Time for the presentation...

The players do their customary handshakes and we see the Indian team doing a walk around of the Wankhede. Stumps in hand as souvenirs. Even before the Monday crowd could get in, the game is over. If you are anywhere near the stadium, better to go back and do something else. The crowd have their phones and try to capture as many members of the side as they can. India regain the Anthony De Mello Trophy which was with England after they won here in 2012. Even the English supporters - I'm assuming they are - with an Indian flag in their hands are cheering the home players. The match summary is up next followed by the presentation. Do stay tuned...

Ashwin to Anderson, out Caught by U Yadav!! Match over. Series over. Best figures for an Indian bowler at the Wankhede. I had asked whether we were in for a super early finish on day 5 earlier on, but even I didn't expect it to end so quickly. 32 minutes was all it took today for Ashwin and India to wrap things up. My colleague - Krishna will be the happiest man in the world even though he is trying his best to hide his joy with an expressionless face. Coming to the wicket - Anderson flicked that in the air, only as far as mid-wicket. A dolly of a catch. Replays show that it was the carrom ball from Ashwin, pitched and turned in. And at the end of the game, wonderful to see Kohli patting Anderson on the back. That's what one should see on a cricket field. Not what happened during the beginning of Jadeja's over. India win the match by an innings and 36 runs. Anderson c U Yadav b Ashwin 2(6)

Ashwin to Anderson, THATS OUT!! Caught!!

55.2

Ashwin to Anderson, no run, no chance on the front foot. None whatsoever on the back as well. Anderson reads it off the pitch and goes back to block, it spins away and beats the edge. Bounced too and again Parthiv gloved it well

55.1

Ashwin to Anderson, no run, wild mow across the line to a ball and he misses. What else do you expect. From round the wicket, nicely tossed up and Anderson missed it. Good grab by Parthiv Patel

Jadeja to Buttler, no run, again darted in towards leg, Buttler wants to keep the strike with a single to leg, can't get it away to the vacant region. Jadeja runs forward to field that

54.5

Jadeja to Buttler, no run, fired in on middle and leg, Buttler gets his bat down in time to block that off the back foot

54.4

Jadeja to Buttler, no run, was there bat or glove on that? Seemed to be, but lands over the backpedalling slip fielder. Buttler going for the reverse to a ball outside off and seemingly feathering that, ricochets off Parthiv's thigh and lobs the fielder

54.3

Jadeja to Buttler, no run, forward defence to the off-side

54.2

Jadeja to Anderson, 1 run, flicked in the air through the vacant square leg area. Gets off strike

54.1

Jadeja to Anderson, no run, Jadeja goes up for an lbw, but Anderson has got a thin bottom edge on the reverse sweep. Erasmus has spotted that. Jadeja checks with him and seems to be asking to be whether there was bat on that. Replays show that Anderson got a tiny edge on that

What is happening out there? Kohli, Parthiv Patel and Anderson are together. A chat and now the umpires get into the action. Buttler and Erasmus have a smile at the end of it. Which means the issue has been sorted for the moment at least. Don't know what the problem is. Will get back on this... Jadeja ready to bowl...

Ashwin to Buttler, no run, the carrom ball comes out again. Outside off, Buttler gets forward and defends solidly. Which means Anderson will be on strike against his best friend - Jadeja

India would want to keep Buttler on strike
