Tricky pitch here in Paarl today, and England's vaunted batting lineup had to dig deep against a determined bowling attack. But once again they were able to summon that little bit extra as they have done recently to polish off another series. Unbeaten in eight consecutive series now, winning seven of them. A dead-rubber in Newlands remains. That's it from us for now. It's a goodbye from Sagar Chawla on behalf of Raju Peethala and Sriram.

Morgan, England captain: We weren't up against the run rate like we were in Newlands. With a short boundary and the wind, we were only one or two big overs away here. Experience helps. Holding your nerve, having been in this situation a number of times. Today's performance was very pleasing. Have to applaud the bowling unit. Wickets were shared around by different names as opposed to the other night. Completely different challenge with no crowds. It's like playing away from home all the time. Within the group we try to create our own level of intensity. Rashid was outstanding at Newlands and almost went unnoticed as he always does. He's a big part of our team. This series in particular and probably the next one in India, we need to maximize it in finding roles for everyone. Will be looking to build strength in depth and giving players opportunities.

De Kock, SA captain: Dawid batted really well. Captain at the back also came in and finished it off. Just need to stay positive and keep learning I guess. When I came out I thought 150 could be a good score here. Maybe if one or two small things went our way we could've won the game. Shamsi was disappointed after his last game. To come out and make a statement, I'm really happy for him. The group are still learning. Every game you play in South Africa is different, with the pitches.

Malan, Player of the Match: Really struggled to get my timing early on. Momentum shifted when we had to put our foot down. Probably my intent wasn't great early on. All my cricket was learnt in the nets back here. Probably helped. Have got so many matchwinners in the team. Our players are used to play in the big matches, to get over the line. When Morgs came in he changed momentum and put them under pressure. The way our bowlers bowled set the game up.

18:10 Local Time, 16:10 GMT, 21:40 IST: Shamsi's spell gave South Africa belief on a sluggish pitch, but England once again too strong with the bat. They just keep having someone or the other who steps up with the depth they have. It was Bairstow in Cape Town. He failed today. But Dawid Malan turned it on after a scratchy start to swing the game in their favour. Malan laboured to 29 off 31 balls and smashed 26 off his next nine, once again proving to be an asset for England in the shortest format. South Africa were buoyed by the inclusion of Nortje today, whose speeds soared close to 150kph. Their quicks used the cutters well while Shamsi worked his magic. But eventually the score of 146 wasn't enough.
