So, was a run-fest at the Kensington Oval with 428 runs being scored from 40 overs, the highest aggregate score in a T20I match in the West Indies. In the end, West Indies's big-hitting ability carried the day for them. But England will take away some positives as they look to rebound in the last couple of games over the weekend. We will be back on Saturday for what promises to be another absorbing contest at this very venue. Do join us for all the fun and action. For now, cheers and bye..

Kieron Pollard | Winning captain - Powell vindicated the selection, but we still needed to bat well. Batted first and batted well, Powell came in and grasped the opportunity, so well done to him. We played well against spinners, that's something that hasn't happened in the recent past. We set the template, spoke about it a lot in the meetings. We can always bring the big shots into play, one boundary was short and we could clear it. Sometimes we'll have to take the ego out of the game. I just used the dimensions of the ground well (while bowling) - our bowling line-up is a bit inexperienced and that has meant more overs for me, which is something I'm willing to do for the team. The challenge for us is to replicate this performance in the next game, the good thing is we can celebrate this win for a longer time. England are making changes, so we will have to come back and do exactly the same thing on Saturday.

Moeen Ali | Losing captain - The guys played very well, more so with us having three debutants. They batted well, they're powerful and kept coming at us. This was a better wicket, the smaller boundaries and the wind blowing on one side, the partnership took the game away from us, but we were in the game for a long time and I'm happy for the boys. Salt was outstanding, hopefully going forward this will help him a lot, we know what he can do at the domestic level. We're still confident about making a comeback into the series

Rovman Powell | Player of the Match - I came to know last night (about selection), had a chat with the captain, the plan was me splitting the two left-handers, Pooran and Bravo. It's all about improvement, wrist spin was an issue for me in the past, but I went away and worked on it over the last 6-7 months. We knew Rashid was the most threatening bowler for them, was looking to get 25-30 off him, and then target the others. There was a big side and a small side, didn't want either two right-handers or left-handers to Rashid. Everything came off the middle of the bat today. Yes, I knew Universe Boss and Evin Lewis (were the only ones to have scored T20I hundreds for West Indies).

19:58 Local Time, 23:58 GMT, 05:28 IST: Kensington laid out a batting beauty tonight and both set of batters feasted themsleves. First up was Rovman Powell, with his maiden T20I hundred, and Nic Pooran, who made 70. Chasing 225, England needed a couple of big hands, a couple of partnerships - but they didn't quite come about. Tom Banton's 39-ball 73 laid the platform for a late assualt from Phil Salt, but his 24-ball 57 wasn't enough on the day, as wickets fell at the other end. The visitors did miss the calm presence of Eoin Morgan and Sam Billings, but once again they weren't just good enough on the day. Three wickets for Romario Shephard, who continues to impress, but it was Sheldon Cottrell and Kieron Pollard who choked the chase. Presentations coming up in a while..

Shepherd to Philip Salt, out Bowled!! That's it for Salt and England - leg-stump yorker, Salt was shuffling all around, misses it completely and is bowled round his legs - played a superb hand, Salt, but it's one in vain. Relief for Shepherd, not that 38 could have been scored off the final over, but he had started it badly, but managed to get his execution right. Philip Salt b Shepherd 57(24) [4s-3 6s-5]

Shepherd to Philip Salt, THATS OUT!! Bowled!!

Shepherd to Philip Salt, SIX, that's one of the six needed - full and wide of off, Salt reaches out and slaps it back over the bowler's head, sails over the sight-screen for a maximum

19.1

Shepherd to Tymal Mills, 2 wides, banged in short and at the stumps, Mills backs away on the pull and misses, this time Philip Salt calls his partner across for a bye - Shepherd gets the ball and misses the throw at the stumps, with Mills struggling, given as a wide and England now need 36 from 6 balls

Romario Shepherd [3.0-0-42-2] is back into the attack

Tymal Mills, right handed bat, comes to the crease

Cottrell to Philip Salt, out Adil Rashid Run Out!! Rashid has run himself out, trying to get his partner on strike for the next over. But this is a lost cause and Salt doesn't even turn towards his partner, both at the same end - Shai Hope passes it on to Cottrell, who takes his time to whip the bails off. Banged in short and Salt was beaten for pace on the pull. Adil Rashid run out (Shai Hope/Cottrell) 1(1)

Cottrell to Philip Salt, THATS OUT!! Run Out!!
