The Windies have laid out a proper statement with that win, they're hungry to perform and take on sides head on. They were led by their captain today who scored his 16th ODI ton and there were plenty of contributions all around. Barring some poor moments in the field and with the ball towards the end, the Windies had a lot to write home about. England were in the game for large parts of it too so they won't be terribly disappointed despite losing. It is a 3-match series after all and there's an opportunity to bounce back in the next one. We'll be right here to tell you all about that one too. Until then, this is Anurag Hegde, Abhinav Guha and Siva signing off. Take care and goodbye.
Shai Hope | West Indies captain and Player of the Match: It [the century] was in a winning cause and thats all I play for. Happy that we won. I had a chat with MS Dhoni some time back and he told me that you always have a lot more time at the crease than you think and that stuck with me. Shepherd was amazing. We got the win, started the series on a high and the aim is to repeat it next game. Their openers played really well, we need to try to start a bit better in the next game. We also had a few dropped catches, if you want to be the best team in the world, you also have to start playing like the best team in the world. Nice to see the openers taking responsibility, theyre both great players. Its about seeing how we can continue to repeat these performances.
Jos Buttler | England captain: Fantastic game of cricket. Lot of credit goes to Shai Hope. We asked a lot of questions of them but they played really well towards the end. Thought it was a fantastic batting effort, really loved the intent that the guys came out with. The wicket was a bit tricky in the middle, they bowled well and slowed it up but it was a great effort. You always want to do well, just need to work hard and trust it’ll come good. Brilliant game of cricket, credit to Shai Hope and Shepherd, it was fantastic hitting and we’ll learn a lot from that. We did some things well, lot to take out of it, we’re looking forward to the next.
17:07 Local Time, 21:07 GMT, 02:37 IST: The hosts are first up on the board as they hand England another shattering loss. They haven't had a good few months in ODI cricket and it doesn't get any better today. The Windies and Shai Hope in particular paced this chase to perfection. It was never going to be easy chasing 326 on a tacky surface but the openers got them off to the start they needed. They shared a 104-run stand of which Athanaze got 66 before being the first to depart. King followed soon after but the skipper held one end up while the others batted around him. At 218/5 in the 39th over, it looked like England held the upper hand but that's when Romario Shepherd walked in to provide his little touch of magic. He struck the ball to all parts and the English bowlers lost the plot under pressure. Hope and Shepherd shared an 89-run stand off just 51 deliveries and that was where the game turned. Even as Shepherd departed with 20-odd still to get, the skipper held his nerve. He got to his hundred with a massive six and finished the game off with another. So the Windies pull off their highest successful run-chase in the Caribbean. Sam Curran was uncharacteristically poor with the ball today and ended up conceding 98 runs in 9.5 overs. Stick around for the presentations.

Gus Atkinson to Shepherd, out Lbw!! Now then, is there another twist in the tale? Was a slower length delivery on middle, just cut back in a touch off the deck and Shepherd had shuffled right across his stumps, he hacked across the line and missed it completely. He was given on-field, he reviewed it but walked off even before Hawkeye returned with three reds. Shepherd lbw b Gus Atkinson 49(28) [4s-4 6s-3]
