18:25 Local Time, 22:55 IST: In isolation, a good game and an encouraging end for Pakistan, who found their winning mojo perhaps one match too late. A few tearful goodbyes - Mashrafe Mortaza and Shoaib Malik in particular, who have entertained us over the course of nearly two decades. It's been one heck of a ride, gentlemen. And Bangladesh - yet again, so near, and yet so far. A few clinical wins, particularly the game against the West Indies, and a premature end to the best all-round performance in World Cup history - Shakib Al Hasan, I bow down to thee! So long, Pakistan and Bangladesh! The new progeny thrives as the veterans rest - oh so many miles to go before you sleep! On that note, it is I, Rishi Roy, bidding you goodbye, on behalf of Raju Peethala, Ramki MS, Sriram AS, Vinod LC, Mukesh Gowda and Hari Sadanandan. Right on to the last two league games tomorrow, then. So long! *Curtains down*

Sarfaraz Ahmed | Pakistan captain: We played very good cricket in the last four matches, but unfortunately we couldn't qualify. Only the one match against West Indies cost us the whole tournament, but the way the boys responded after the India match was honestly commendable. The way we started the combination was not great, but when Shaheen Shah and Haris Sohail came in, I think we were a settled unit. We need to sit down together, and do lots of work - we have almost two months off. The way our batsmen - Imam, Babar, Haris, and the bowlers, as well, the way they have responded is extremely good. The way Shaheen has bowled in the last four matches has been very encouraging, particularly today, I think he's taken six wickets. I'd also like to thank the crowd for their support throughout the tournament.

Mashrafe Mortaza | Bangladesh captain: I think both matches, in the last two, Shakib batted well, but we didn't get a good partnerships in the middle. The wicket was 50-50, we could've chased it. We are extremely sorry that we couldn't lend a helping hand to Shakib who batted, bowled and fielded very well in every match in this tournament. In some important matches, the fielding has costed us a lot throughout the tournament. The bowling hasn't been up to the mark either, but the batting is a big positive. Mustafizur was unplayable from the beginning of his career. He has struggled in the last two years with injuries, but since the Ireland series he has done well, and he is an asset for Bangladesh cricket. We could've finished on a good note. It has been 50-50. We have given our 100%, but sometimes we need luck, which has never been with us. I will go home and rethink on my career.

Shaheen Afridi, Man of the Match - best figures by a Pakistan bowler in a World Cup game: Thanks to almighty. The bowling coach Ajju bhai (Azhar Mahmood) was helping me in the nets and I'm happy with this performance. It is a special feeling for me, my family and Pakistan as well. Whenever the senior guys tell me to bowl a yorker, I try to bowl one. Their experience is very helpful for me. It was a slow wicket and we saw Mustafizur bowling a lot of cutters in the first innings and I tried to do the same. This award is special and I want to dedicate this to my Abbu (Dad).

A stunning assault by the Pakistan bowlers after setting Bangladesh a target of 316. If only they'd turned out this performance earlier in the tournament. Or if luck had gone Pakistan's way with some of the washed out games. They were absolutely down and out coming into the tournament, with 11 losses from 11 games, and then, perhaps one game too late, the M-for-Mercurial Pakistan showed up, only to find themselves in a well-high impossible NRR situation. Particularly today, with only Shakib showing some sort of resistance before edging Shaheen through to Sarfaraz, the tail was almost a walkover, as the incisive Pakistan bowling ripped the heart out of Bangladesh's batting, coasting home by 94 runs. Presentations coming up in a moment...

18:06 Local Time, 17:06 GMT, 22:36 IST: A dominating win by Pakistan. A guard of honour for Shoaib Malik - the last survivor from the 20th century (ODI debut - October 14, 1999), whose international career has officially come to an end. Shaheen Afridi gets the match ball as a souvenir - and rightly so. An incisive spell of fast bowling from this man, who has absolutely stunned this Bangladesh batting line-up, which has been one of the most trustworthy ones over the course of this World Cup.

Shaheen Afridi to Mustafizur, out Bowled! There we go! A yorker! These are the best figures by a Pakistan bowler in World Cup cricket - 6/35! Absolutely nails the yorker this time, that's a seed of a delivery, and it's almost castled the Fizz off his feet! Crashes into the base of leg-stump, and Pakistan end their campaign on a high! Bangladesh, well, they've fizzled out on the batting front today. Mustafizur b Shaheen Afridi 1(3)

Shadab Khan to Mortaza, out Stumped!! That's nine down! He bowls it wide, good thinking - Mortaza was always going after him! Charges down the wicket and misses it completely as it turns past the toe-end. Sarfaraz whips off the bails. There is a review by the umpire, not sure why, and Mortaza is miles out when the bails are whipped off. His final act in World Cup cricket. What an ambassador he has been for Bangladesh. He walks off to a rousing ovation. Mortaza st Sarfaraz b Shadab Khan 15(14) [6s-2]
