India's impressive show in this 2023 World Cup, and their domination over Pakistan in World Cups, continues. It was a jam-packed stadium in Ahmedabad today with over 100000 spectators in attendance. In terms of a contest, it turned out to be an anticlimax, as it often is, but the crowd did get to watch another fine bowling performance from India led by Jasprit Bumrah's continued brilliance. Rohit Sharma then followed it up with another sublime knock after the one against Afghanistan. Their batting depth, their bowling quality and the way they're fielding - India look so tough to beat in these conditions. They were certainly too much for Pakistan who once again crumbled on this occasion as they have time and again. So that's all from us here. The flurry of one-sided contests in this tournament seems unstoppable. Will it change tomorrow with England taking on Afghanistan? We shall see. Until then, it's goodbye!
Rohit Sharma | Indian captain: The bowlers were the ones today as well who set the game up for us. I don't think it was a 190 pitch. At one stage we were looking at 280. The way they showed grit says a lot. That is something we pride ourselves in. Whoever gets the ball does the job. We've got 6 individuals who can do the job with the ball. My job as a captain is important there as well. It's to read the conditions and figure out who's the right guy to do the job. It's only because the guys - before entering the WC - they got a lot of runs. We were very clear what we wanted to do. Didn't want to be in two minds about who's going to bat where. All in all, it's looking good. Want to keep my fingers crossed. Don't want to get too excited. Don't want to get too low as well. Want to stay balanced. Keep calm and keep moving forward. Every opposition we come up against are all quality. You have to play well on that particular day, and that's what we're looking at.
Babar Azam | Pakistan captain: We started well. Good partnership between me and Imam. We wanted to play normal cricket (me and Rizwan). Suddenly we had a collapse and didn't finish well. The way we started, wanted to target 280-290. With the new ball we are not upto the mark. The way Rohit is playing - he played an outstanding innings.
Jasprit Bumrah | Player of the Match: It felt good. Usually you try to analyse the wicket as soon as possible. We realised the wicket is on the slower side so we wanted to bowl hard lengths. We were trying to make it as difficult as possible. (On how he reads pitches quickly and understands what lengths work) Just being aware I guess. I used to ask a lot of questions when I was young and that helps me now. Now I'm experienced. In my younger days they (seniors) were used to being troubled by me sometimes (with questions), but it helps to read the wicket and try different options. (On the slower ball to get rid of Rizwan) We were bowling in the middle overs and I saw Jaddu's ball was turning, not too much but a little bit. I count my slower ball as a spinner's slower ball, one of those days where it came off. (On the ball that got Shadab) Little phase where there was reverse swing, one of the occasions when the white ball was reverse swinging.

20:06 Local Time, 14:36 GMT, 20:06 IST: 8-0! And this 8th win in a row has to be inarguably the easiest. India with a belting of Pakistan and that envious World Cup record in ODIs continues. The chase of 192 was never going to unsettle this powerful Indian batting lineup and skipper Rohit Sharma made it even more easier with a superb innings. His timing was spot-on and he took down the Pakistani pacers with his strokeplay. A pull off Haris Rauf which soared over deep backward square leg the highlight. Rohit may not have got consecutive World Cup 100s against Pakistan but his innings ensured the likes of Shreyas Iyer took their time and eye and India's No.4 helped himself to a morale-boosting unbeaten 53. Pakistan did not have the target to bowl at. They will wonder how from such a strong position at 155/2 in the 30th over, they allowed themselves to capitulate to 191 all out. That's where the game was lost effectively. India pounced on that Babar wicket and made the contest their own after that. With this win, India go top of the table too. In hindsight, and with the way the pitch played around the 25th over in the chase, a score of 280 was a good one on this. But Pakistan were well short of that. Stay tuned for the presentation and other stuff...
