Zimbabwe go in with four points and Netherlands go in with two points. Windies have gone into the next round but would need truck loads of luck to have their hopes alive. We have witnessed a great game of cricket. There was a superb ton from Pooran earlier but all of it was eclipsed by some stunning display by the Dutch. The Super Sixes promise more excitement. We will be there to detail out everything to you. This is Kumar Abhisekh Das who had a gala time in covering this roller coaster of game in the company of Sagar Chawla and Abhinand Raghavendran.
Van Beek, Player of the Match: I can't explain it at the moment. We wanted to do something special. Just to watch Scotty and Teja - the more they batted the more we believed. Have been playing for 13-14 yrs now. Amount of matches I've lost in that situation, it's so satisfying to get one over the line. Tell you what, I'll wait 13-14 yrs to do it again. For me, it was about keeping my head still. If you miss I'm going to hit it. I was disappointed with that last ball where I junked it to mid-on. In my head I said if it's meant to be it's meant to be. Thankful I got a bit of redemption. Remember facing Roston, thought I'm going to give myself a chance. When he came on in the 49th, I thought we've got to go here. It's in the books now. Massive, massive (what does the result mean to the team?). The culture we've built over the last 18 months. We've played a lot of Super League games last year and we were at the other end of the beatings. Nonstop, nonstop, nonstop. The amount of learning this group's had. And to come here, and in a crunch time to give ourselves a chance to go to the World Cup is huge. We'll enjoy tonight and then have our sights set on the next match.
Edwards: Still soaking it in. Can't play a better individual game of cricket. They batted sensationally. We bowled well in patches. We thought we conceded 60 more. We had the belief though. That innings from Teja and van Beek was special. We pride ourselves on our running. You hit gaps and run hard. Logan was in a bit of a trance. I don't think he was listening to me. He was hitting everything for fours and sixes. This was going to be a massive game for us. To go in with two points is good.
Hope: We just let ourselves down. I can't see us scoring 375 and losing. Honestly, I thought it was enough. I expected the bowlers to do the job. Just unfortunate we lost. The picture is right in front of us now. We need to do better.

What a game! Unreal. Surreal. Adjectives would need more adjectives for me to describe this. One for the ages for sure. Yes, Windies were sloppy but credit to Netherlands for being relentless. They ran so many twos. They ran hard for everything. Former champions - West Indies - now have lost two games. Might well be very tough for them to make it to the top 2 now. Netherlands have managed to script something magical. England 2009, SA 2022, Windies 2023. They have slewed and slained a few goliaths in the big events. Credit to van Beek, credit to Nidamanuru, credit to Edwards and almost everyone in the Dutch camp. Games like these just tilt the debate in favour of ODIs. I don't know what the captains will have to say. But I would shout out loud - INCREDIBLE - for me to describe this game. After being unseparated for 100 overs, it was up to van Beek, again, to win it for the Dutch. He smashed 30 runs off 6 balls in the super over to rest the case. Windies had no answers as van Beek with the ball picked up two wickets as well
Ball 5: van Beek to Holder, out Caught by Edwards!! That is it. Windies are down. They have lost another crucial game. Netherlands did something similar to SA in the T20 World Cup in 2022 and might well have snatched the World Cup ticket from the Windies team as well. Was a short ball, the batter got a faint edge and was taken by the keeper. Harare has turned Orange today. Rightfully, they have painted it with their vivacious energy and spirit. Holder c Scott Edwards b van Beek 0(1) 8/2
Ball 4: van Beek to Charles, out Caught by Zulfiqar!! Charles is out. More ignominy for the Windies. Was a fuller length ball, van Beek is the man! 23 off 2 balls won't happen. Was hit high by Charles but he found the man at long-on. Johnson Charles c Saqib Zulfiqar b van Beek 7(3) 8/1
Ball 3: van Beek to Hope, 1 run, fuller ball, drilled it wide of long-off. They get a brace. Three legal balls and Netherlands will win this. 23 off 3 balls is not going to happen. 8/0
Ball 2: van Beek to Charles, 1 run, right up there, van Beek nails the fuller ball and Charles inside edges the ball behind square for a single. 24 needed off 4 balls now. 7/0
Ball 1: van Beek to Charles, SIX, sixer! Was a length delivery and van Beek was smashed over deep backward square. A little taste of his own medicine. 25 needed off 5 balls now. 6/0
We have witnessed something really special. The spirit of the Orange army has been irrefutable. They have been outrageously good. And winners of the first two editions of the World Cup might not qualify for the main round. That will be tragic. But credit to Netherlands, they have brought in the crowds today to witness something magical. The light is fading. van Beek to Charles it would be...
Ball 6: Holder to van Beek, FOUR, Windies would need 31 off 6 balls. Three fours and three sixes in the super over. That was short, Holder changed his ploy but same result. The batter hopped up and pulled it to beat the man at deep square to his left. Windies are flabbergasted. They have beaten to pulp here. Have conceded more than 400 runs in 51 overs. 30/0
Ball 5: Holder to van Beek: SIX, 26 off 5 balls. Holder being taken to the cleaners here. That was in the slot, van Beek got under it and smashed it over wide of long-on. Holder is in disbelief. So many eyes being rubbed in disbelief. van Beek is putting up some show. 26/0
Ball 4: Holder to van Beek, SIX another six! Was there in the slot and van Beek gets under it to power it over long-on. The ball is lost. That is outta here. Paint Harare Orange. The Dutch team are taking the Windies team on a ride here. 20/0
Ball 3: Holder to van Beek, FOUR, four more! Take that Holder. That is a dagger in the hearts of the Windies fans. Short ball, van Beek got on top of the bounce to pull it away past deep mid. 14/0
Ball 2: Holder to van Beek, SIX, low full toss, clobbered! Has been muscled over long-on. This is sensational power hitting. He isn't done. That was huge. 10/0
Ball 1: Holder to van Beek, FOUR, full toss, flogged away and was hit away into the gap for a four. Lovely shot indeed. That was put away past the man at mid-wicket. 4/0
van Beek and Edwards batting for Netherlands. Holder to bowl the Super Over.
17:05 Local Time, 15:05 GMT, 20:35 IST: We have witnessed some fascinating cricket. Glad there is a little break before the super over starts. How do I put this to you? Netherlands had no chance. No chance at all when the chase started. The openers Vikramjit and O'Dowd ignited a splinter. Barresi and de Leede tried to be catalysts. But it was the pair of Edwards and Nidamanuru which turned the game around with a fabulous partnership. They added 143 runs in 15 overs. But they lost their wickets at crucial junctures towards the end of the chase. But van Beek came in and scored a brisk cameo. He pounced on some freebies from Chase in the penultimate over to ensure only 9 was needed off the final over. He got a four off the first ball of the last over as well. But Alzarri Joseph held his nerves post that. With one needed off the last ball, van Beek flogged one down to mid-on. They even checked for a no-ball. A few hearts did stop for a moment but was a legal ball. Super Over time! Netherlands will bat first.
