West Indies won by 3 runs
PLAYER OF THE MATCH : Nicholas Pooran
Batter
Bowler
The fielding from both teams was shoddy today and West Indies just managed to hold their nerve better. The defending champions were put under serious pressure by Bangladesh, but they found a way. Their team changes helped, the bowlers executed well. They will hope Pollard is back fully fit before their next outing against Sri Lanka on November 4. Bangladesh will hope Shakib will be available for them next game. We now shift focus to Afghanistan v Pakistan. Mohammad Nabi and Co, have bravely chosen to bat first. We will see you there!
Pooran, Man of the Match: Definitely a tactical move batting down. Our batting hasn't clicked so far and we have been chopping and changing. I felt like I had to raise my hand up and perform for the team after Polly left. I have been working very hard. I have been a doing a lot of right things. I hadn't been doing justice to myself. I have always been positive about my skills and attitude. It's tough managing all the players. I must commend the guys. It was important (to win today). We didn't take all our catches, but the energy was good and the belief was always there. Had faith in the experienced bowlers. Akeal has been bowling well for us in the tournament, just felt Chase was not needed on that wicket because back of a length from the pacers was tough to hit. Told him (Russell) the over before, make up your mind whatever you have to defend. He executed, thankful to him. Happy for him. He looks fine, the medical team is assessing him. Even with that injury, walking back to bat and hitting that vital six. We can see why he has been a wonderful leader. We as young players look up to that. We would like to someone like that in the future. At the end of the day, very happy.
Mahmudullah: I think Liton's wicket was very crucial. We were both set. I think the bowlers did a good job, but we missed a few chances and conceded 10-15 extra runs. We tried, Shakib and Naim tried but it was hard to score. Shoriful, Mahedi bowled well. Taskin bowled beautifully. Yes, fielding has been an issue. We need to come out better.
17:52 Local Time, 13:52 GMT, 19:22 IST: No real celebrations from West Indies. Just a few gentle smiles and hugs. Pooran threw the ball into the ground and roared. Gayle very happy. The West Indies fans are dancing. Disappointment for Bangladesh. Phew! What a pressure second half that was. When Liton Das was out there, he made batting look so easy. Soumya came out and timed the ball pretty well after Shakib and Naim were sent back inside the powerplay. West Indies kept things calm but Bravo leaking 15 in his second over let Bangladesh back in. Rahim, for an experienced player, then played a needless fancy shot and threw it away. Holder finished his quota. Pressure was on Bravo to get it right with just 33 needed off 4 overs. And he bowled a masterful 17th over. Packed the off-side, bowled to that field and took the leg-side away. Suddenly West Indies gained the upper hand with that 3-run over. Bangladesh got a four and six at the very start of the next two overs, but Russell closed it out pretty well with his yorkers to keep West Indies afloat in this World Cup.

Russell to Mahmudullah, no run, yorker, beaten. West Indies stay alive in the comp. Bangladesh are almost out. Teams can go through with two wins, but the NRR is so poor for both teams. Dre Russ, nailing those yorkers under serious pressure. Top class end overs stuff from the big man. Mahmudullah stayed leg-side and swing, didn't connect
Four to get.
Russell to Mahmudullah, 2 runs, brilliant yorker, just a run. Ohhhh Holder fumbles and Mahmudullah hares back to get the strike. Bravo has his hands aloft - what are you doing guys!
Russell to Mahmudullah, 2 runs, in the airrr, dropped! What are you doing Fletcher? Second fumble from him and Russell slams his own legs in frustration. Should have been a dot. Shortish length on the leg stump, Mahmudullah pulls to deep backward square leg, picked it up late and spilled the low grab
Russell to Mahmudullah, 2 runs, brilliant yorker, but Mahmudullah has squeezed this out to mid-on, big gap and they get two. Captain retains strike, which is crucial for Bangladesh
10 off 4. Pooran takes one glove off now
Russell to Afif Hossain, byes, 1 run, swing and miss, ohhh Pooran misses a direct-hit. They could have had Mahmudullah runout. Bravo is livid why didn't you take the gloves off? Slower delivery outside off stump, Afif swings and miss, Mahmudullah badly wanted the strike
The left-right combo won't make it easy for the bowlers. Field change, fine leg back
Russell to Afif Hossain, 2 runs, low full toss, Afif moves across and scoops, doesn't time it well, just clears short fine leg. Good beginning for Bangladesh
Afif Hossain, left handed bat, comes to the crease
Andre Russell [3.0-0-21-1] is back into the attack
13 off 6. They need an early boundary. Mahmudullah crossed, so we have the new batter to face. How important was that small bit of the game? We will find out.

4-0-36-1
Dwayne Bravo to Liton Das, out Caught by Holder!! The experience of DJ Bravo and that tall building of Jas Holder at long-on. If not for him, this could have been a six. Good field placing. So it was going to be the wide slower ball of course, Liton moves across and goes down the ground like his captain did early, but doesn't get the elevation and Holder stretches to take it overhead. End of a very vital innings. But West Indies have got a key wicket. Won't be easy for the new batter. Liton Das c Holder b Dwayne Bravo 44(43) [4s-4]
Dwayne Bravo to Liton Das, THATS OUT!! Caught!!
Dwayne Bravo to Mahmudullah, 1 run, full pace wide yorker, Mahmudullah squeezes it to point. They go for it, direct-hit would have been curtains but Chase misses
