England vs European teams in T20Is
Matches: 5
Lost: 3
No result: 2
14:50 Local Time, 18:50 GMT, 00:20 IST: Right then, that's the first abandoned game of T20 World Cup 2024. Only 10 overs of play was possible in the past 5 hours or so with multiple rain breaks. The Scotland openers were impressive as they scored 90 runs in the allotted 10 overs. The match was poised on an interesting note with a revised target of 109 off 10 overs for England, but rain has had the final say. As a result of that, both the teams will share a point each. Scotland will next face Namibia, while England are set to face the heat against the mighty Aussies. Both the games should prove to be exciting. That's all from our side from this game. You can switch tabs and follow our live coverage of the Netherlands - Nepal clash. Ciao for now!
Richie Berrington | SCO captain: I think everyone's frustrated, not able to get in a game, but some positives to take from it at least. I thought our openers did a really good job, we could take something from that. Frustrated we couldn't get a full game in. We certainly gave ourselves a chance. It would have been interesting to see how the weather affected the pitch. There was some uneven bounce, something that we expected through the day. We certainly had an opportunity there. It's the role he (Jones) has played for us before. He can bat anywhere in the batting order, but at the top he is exciting and we saw that today. Hopefully we'll see plenty of that from him. Munsey has been in good form, he can be hard to bowl at. George has got different skills, not sure if I can do the same.
Jos Buttler | ENG captain: We just wanted to get underway and get a full game and stuff, but that has not happened, that's the situation we find ourselves in. Hopefully we get a dry game into the next one and we can get into the tournament. It was a tough call, we thought the extra pace of Wood and Archer, we liked it as a combination, but we have got a lot of different options, selection is always going to be the difficult part. Topley has got skills with the new ball.
14:33 Local Time, 18:33 GMT, 00:03 IST: There's a steady drizzle and the covers are in place. It's gone very gloomy again, doesn't look promising. In fact, the rain has gotten heavier. Getting back for the run chase looks unlikely looking at live pictures.

14:27 Local Time, 18:27 GMT, 23:57 IST: The target for England will be 109 in 10 overs as DLS has done its bit. Scotland will take it. But they would be feeling that the last two overs could have gone for more. They added only 18 runs in the last two overs. Rains came in when Scotland were 51 for no loss in 6.2 overs. It ate up enough time and the game was truncated to 10 overs a side. Ali resumed his incomplete over and gave away only four singles. Then Rashid took some punishment as he conceded 18 in his first over but came back superbly in the final over. Scotland have added 90 in their 10 overs. England now would be ruing the no-ball bowled by Wood. Not only the DLS addition would have been lesser. It would have also meant the match up of Munsey and Rahid won't have happened as well. The defending champions would now need 109 to get off to a winning start. The wicket has been a little two paced. It has kept a little low as well. Grab your popcorn tub, this is going to be fun!

Adil Rashid to Michael Jones, FOUR, Scotland end with 90. They have added 39 after the resumption. Was a tossed up delivery, Michael Jones sat down and slog swept it wide of deep mid for a four. Fetched it and placed it well. Excellent final over from Rashid despite that four
Adil Rashid to Munsey, 1 run, one more. Wider, Munsey slams the reverse down the ground for a single. That was only 66 clicks. Very slow indeed from Rashid
Adil Rashid to Michael Jones, 1 run, sits down and slams it down to long-on for a single. Was very slow again from Adil Rashid
Adil Rashid to Munsey, 1 run, hangs back and pulls the ball down to deep square for a single

Chris Jordan
2-0-24-0
Jordan to Munsey, 2 runs, Jones has made it. 10 off the over. That was flogged down to long-on and Michael Jones should have easily made it but the bat got stuck in the ground as he was about to touch down. But it ends well for him
Has lazy running cost Michael Jones his wicket here? Or has he made it? Direct hit from long-on. There was always a couple but Michael Jones lost hold of his bat as he was about to enter the crease. His foot his grounded when the direct hit happened.
Jordan to Michael Jones, leg byes, 1 run, only a single. Follows the batter with a length delivery angled in. Michael Jones looked to slog it across the line and missed it. The ball went off the pads into the off-side and they stole a leg bye. Very important final ball coming up
Jordan to Michael Jones, no run, crucial dot ball. Length delivery, hard length, punched back to the bowler. He has to slog at these. Has been a decent over so far from Jordan
Jordan to Munsey, 1 run, 7 off the over so far. Need more boundaries. Fuller one, failed to get under it and was mistimed down to deep mid for a single
Jordan to Munsey, SIX, and six more. He is hitting them well. Was a length delivery on the pads, Munsey managed to whip it off the pads and behind square for a sixer. Timed it well after a little walk across the sticks
Jordan to Munsey, no run, Jordan went for 15 in his over. Chance for some redemption. Starts with a fuller length delivery angled across, Munsey looked to slog and missed the line of the delivery. Failed to get under it
