This rivalry is living up to expectations these days. So Group D is spiced up too with Sri Lanka losing to Bangladesh and South Africa. Earlier, Afghanistan stunned New Zealand in Group C, while USA outsmarted Pakistan in Group A. In few hours from now we've got Netherlands taking on South Africa and Australia playing England. Two exciting games coming up and we will be looking forward to your company as always. See you again!

Najmul Hossain Shanto | Bangladesh captain: Happy with the way everyone played. Run chase wasn't easy but we didn't bat well to be honest. Pitch was pretty good. Litton showed his skill today. Hridoy the way he played that over it helped us. Happy for the crowd and I hope they will come again and support us.

Wanindu Hasaranga | Sri Lanka captain: We started really well in the first 10 overs but in the middle overs we batted badly. Bowling is our strength. If we had got 150-160 we could have won with our bowling attack. The batters let us down in both games. We still have two games and we will try to do our best. Maheesh and myself are the two main spinners and we have to attack.

Rishad Hossain | Player of the Match: I tried my best and stuck to my strengths. I was trying to keep it normal for the hat-trick delivery and was keen on executing a good ball.

The 63-run stand between Litton Das and Towhid Hridoy was the highest for Bangladesh for 4th wicket or below in a T20 WC game, bettering 51* for the sixth wicket between Mushfiqur Rahim and Mahmudullah against Australia in Bengaluru in 2016.

23:04 Local Time, 04:04 GMT, 09:34 IST: Bangladesh clinch this thriller and their fans are absolutely elated in the stands. Mahmudullah was calm under pressure, but for him this could have been a different story. Credit to Sri Lanka for fighting all the way, but they have now lost two games and made life difficult for progression. This was not a 124 pitch for sure. Not a great deal of turn, something in it for pacers but Sri Lanka weren't good enough with the bat and they finished around 20 runs short of a par total. Thushara did get them off to a good start with the ball though. 28/3 inside the powerplay and looked tough for Bangladesh but Litton batted sensibly and Hridoy came out with great intent to put them well ahead. In fact the latter took Hasaranga on for a hat-trick of sixes before the bowler had the last laugh. Hasaranga got Litton too soon after and Thushara picked up two in two to put pressure back but Bangladesh managed to hold their nerve and get over the line.

18.6

Shanaka to Mahmudullah, 2 runs, driven to mid-off. Oh he's given up halfway because the fielder had a lot of time to aim at the stumps

18.6

Shanaka to Mahmudullah, wide, slower short delivery too high, Mahmudullah tried to ramp and missed it. Kusal Mendis was so confident and adamant for the review

Huge appeal for caught behind, not given and reviewed. Meanwhile Mahmudullah asks why is that not a wide for height. Oh you could easily see a big gap between bat and ball even without UltraEdge. Given wide now

18.5

Shanaka to Mahmudullah, no run, short and outside off stump, Mahmudullah lets it go thinking it will be called a wide, fair delivery says ump. That was so close to being a wide

18.4

Shanaka to Tanzim Hasan Sakib, 1 run, full and down leg, Tanzim flicks through backward square leg. Just a single though. Probably the second was on but Mahmudullah wanted strike

18.3

Shanaka to Tanzim Hasan Sakib, no run, oh risky run, driven straight to mid-off and he set off to keep strike. Fielder had a lot of time to fire the stumps down but missed and they get complete the win with an overthrow

18.2

Shanaka to Mahmudullah, 1 run, wrists this to deep mid-wicket. Only four needed now

18.1

6

Shanaka to Mahmudullah, SIX, first ball of the game is a friendly full toss with 11 to get for the opposition and Shanaka offers a gift. Chris Silverwood tries to hide his face in disappointment. Mahmudullah hit a full toss to hand at Chinnswamy in 2016, but here in Dallas he's smacked it out of the middle over square leg to get his side closer to the victory
