What an exciting match that was! These two teams have produced thrillers in the past and today was no different. The top-orders of both the teams collapsed, but it were the middle-order batters that chipped in with pivotal contributions on a wicket that has asked too many questions in the past. The pacers of both the teams dominated in the powerplay, however, Engelbrecht from Netherlands and Miller from South Africa showed us the way to bat on such wickets. Miller played the match-defining knock eventually. We'll be back tomorrow with some more T20 World Cup action. You can switch tabs and follow our live coverage of the ongoing contest between Australia and England. This is Nikhil Jadhav signing off on behalf of Abhinav Guha, Siva and Sagar Chawla. Good night!
Aiden Markram: It was nerve-racking. Got to give credit to them and also credit to us upfront (with the ball.) It's a game of a cricket, they (Netherlands) have proved that they can beat best teams. They have beaten us twice (in ICC tournaments), not a mental block or something. The game of cricket makes it a bit tricky. We are moving forward as a squad. Sometimes the wins are going to be convincing. To squeeze a win out of that (12/4) situation, it's good for the team environment. If compared to the first game, I think the wicket played well today. It was better than the first game. We have been good in the field and with the ball. We need to get some confidence while batting, especially while batting at the top.
Scott Edwards: In a score of 100 it changed the game, credit to South Africa they bowled well, credit to their batters how they batted in the end. Probably hard to tell. We were just getting an understanding of the slow outfield and the way that wicket played. I think we pride ourselves playing in tournament cricket, we find our ways of playing (well) in such (pressure) games. I back our guys, it was a tough wicket to start.
David Miller | Player of the Match: Whole lot better now (how's the heart?). It was a good finish in the end. Wicket played a bit better than the first game but it was still going around. Credit to the Netherlands guys who hit their areas well. Wanted to tick over the scoreboard as much as we can. Can't go into a shell. They made it difficult for us to score. We just tried to ground it out as much as we could. We have got over the line with our tailenders (before), so I had faith in the guys coming in. First ball of the second last over went, and I thought I have to finish the game here.
13:53 Local Time, 17:53 GMT, 23:23 IST: A win for South Africa against Netherlands! Finally they have managed to topple the Dutch in ICC events. Lost against Netherlands in the 2023 ODI World Cup in India, they lost against the same team during the T20 World Cup of 2022, but today the Proteas have come out on top against this same opposition after a couple of years. The Proteas were in huge trouble having lost four wickets within the powerplay, but Miller and Stubbs have come to their rescue tonight. QdK, Reeza, Markram and Klaasen departed without contributing much, however, the experience of Miller and the exuberance of Stubbs steatied SA's sinking ship. Unfortunately Stubbs couldn't make the most of the start he got, however, Miller stayed till the end and took South Africa over the line in the 20th over. Stay around for the presentations..
Bas de Leede to Miller, SIX, Miller powers SA to a 4-wicket win against Netherlands! In the arc, a slot delivery and when it's the arc Miller sends it out of the park. Gets hold of it and sends it sailing over deep mid-wicket for half-a-dozen. The DJ plays 'Waka Waka,' by Shakira in the background. A thoroughly professional performance by Miller when SA needed it the most
Bas de Leede to Miller, FOUR, 100 up for SA, fifty for Miller! Short of a length outside off and Miller thumps it over cover for four runs. SA need only 4 runs more. This is surely in their bag now
Bas de Leede to Miller, no run, a slower bouncer outside off and Miller let's it through to the keeper
Bas de Leede to Miller, 2 runs, short of a length on off, punched through cover for a couple of runs. A weak throw at the bowler's end
Bas de Leede to Miller, SIX, on the shorter side and Miller has pulled this over fine leg for half-a-dozen. Just clears the boundary but good enough to take SA closer to the target

van Beek to Maharaj, no run, short and quick ball on leg, Maharaj looks to work it away, gets hit on the thigh pad. A leg bye denied
Keshav Maharaj, right handed bat, comes to the crease
van Beek to Marco Jansen, out Bowled!! Knocked him over! This match keeps swinging like the pendulum of a clock! Short of a length around middle and off, the ball seams back in to beat Marco Jansen's wild swing. The middle stump has been uprooted and South Africa need 16 runs from 13 balls. Are Netherlands going to come out on top once again in this battle? They beat SA in the previous two ICC events and they might do it once again. Marco Jansen b van Beek 3(5)
van Beek to Marco Jansen, THATS OUT!! Bowled!!
van Beek to Marco Jansen, 2 runs, drifting on the pads, cramped for room as Marco Jansen clips it through the leg-side for a couple of runs
van Beek to Miller, 1 run, short of a length around off, punched through cover by Miller for a single
van Beek to Miller, SIX, it's Miller time! Short ball on leg, Miller pulls it over deep backward square leg for half-a-dozen. SA inching closer to the target as Miller gives a fist bump to his partner at the other end
van Beek to Miller, no run, short of a length around off, Miller pulls it towards the fielder at mid-wicket
Logan van Beek [3.0-1-12-1] is back into the attack
Still one over of Vikram/Pringle left that South Africa can potentially capitalise on. When will Edwards go to that option.
