India beat Pakistan moments ago in a close contest, while Scotland managed to clinch a clinical win over Oman just a while ago. A couple of interesting encounters to cap off the weekend folks. Still a lot of action remaining in this tournament. South Africa will lock horns with Bangladesh tomorrow. Hopefully we get to witness another exhilarating clash. For now this is Nikhil signing off on behalf of Abhinav and Mukesh. See you tomorrow folks. Good night!
Richie Berrington | Scotland captain: It was important to come out on top today, we have got ourselves in a good position (after this win.) It was always going to be important on this wicket. The spinners did a great job in the middle overs. It was more of the right lengths to hit. We were happy at the halfway stage with that score to chase. Just wanted these things (picking wickets) in the first innings. It was important to get a good start. That partnership at the top got us in a very strong position. That was really important for us. We are in a strong position, but we want to enjoy this moment. We have another big game coming up..
Aqib Ilyas | Oman captain: The thing is that is was a good toss to win, but we couldn't utilize. We could have scored 170 runs, you can't do this usually. We have to score more runs in the batting, our batters played a lot of dot balls. We dropped too many catches, anyone who gets a life, that's how it affects you know. We have quality players but it's about handling the pressure. We had to back our players. We have to stay positive, everyone is upset after this game. If you compete against England you end on a good note.
Brandon McMullen | Player of the Match: It was tough out there, good to get the win for the team. It was quite a short boundary with the breeze, we discussed it as a group as a key element, using the breeze to our advantage and it paid off., Not sure where it came from, I played hockey as a kid and I think it most likely came from there. Main priority was to win the game but at the drinks break, we decided to have a go at the net run-rate. Very confident, we are confident going into the Australia game, we need to stay level-headed and give our best.
15:46 Local Time, 19:46 GMT, 01:16 IST: Scotland are still unbeaten in this competition and they have moved to the top of the table as a result of this clinical performance against Oman. The Scotland bowlers restricted Oman to a mediocre total at the halfway stage and their batters have finished off the run chase without breaking a sweat. As clinical as it could get. Michael Jones departed after playing a cameo, however, Munsey and McMullen took control of things thereafter. Munsey departed after playing an entertaining knock, however, McMullen stayed till the end, notched up his fifty and took Scotland over the line. Oman were decent with the bat, but their bowling let them down today. An impressive performance by the Scottish boys indeed..
