So, that's it from semi-final number 1. Netherlands have convincingly outwitted Ireland. The losing unit now can at best finish third. And the Netherlands on the other hand await the result of the second semi-final. Namibia take on Papua New Guinea later in the day and we will get you all the coverage from that game as well. Buh bye for now.
Pieter Seelaar: You always have to be happy when you win by a margin of 20 runs. We always try to be flexible. Having Tendo at the end, it is always pretty good and there is Van Der Merwe as well. Today, the wicket was really nice to bowl on for me and Van Der Merwe. We don't have a set formula. We do chop and change a bit.
Gary Wilson: We would have bowled. They would have bowled as well. They have got a lot of experience in their squad. They were excellent in the middle overs. We always try and stay positive. Looking at it in hindsight, they got 20 more. T20 is a game of excitement and we don't want to curtail the powers of our players.
Roelof van der Merwe, Man of the Match: There was a little bit of bounce on the wicket when we batted. He (Ryan ten Doeschate) said just let's take it deep. He is very experienced and I just listened to him. They played the Powerplay well, put us under pressure and we were lucky that we got a couple of wickets after that. There was variable bounce and the hard length was quite hard to get it away.
17:28 Local Time, 13:28 GMT, 18:58 IST: Netherlands win the first semi and are through to the finals. This was a convincing win for the Men in Orange. The execution of the slower balls by the pacers was brilliant. The spinners also come to the party and picked up crucial wickets after the powerplay period which choked the run chase. The wicket was a bit two-paced and that also didn't help the cause of the Irish batters. Lastly, losing wickets in clusters also was a huge dent to the cause of the run-chase.
