Third time lucky for Netherlands. They shared this trophy in 2008 and 2015 but have gone one step ahead to win it. For PNG, the Assad Valas, the Lega Siakas, the Norman Vanuas, the Damien Ravus have arrived amongst the big boys. These are the names which you will hear more often as the cricket caravan moves along. More importantly they have qualified for the T20 World Cup Down Under in 2020. That would certainly open up more avenues for cricket to flourish in PNG. Thus, after 51 games, Netherlands, PNG, Ireland, Namibia, Scotland and Oman have qualified for the Australian extravaganza in a year's time. They will join Sri Lanka and Bangladesh, out of which four top teams will qualify for the main round of the World T20. That's it for today, we will come back with more cricketing action. Buh bye!
Pieter Seelaar | Netherlands captain: Very pleased and proud, proud of the team. We struggled a bit in Oman. But we arrived here and did well. Deservingly, we are holding the trophy all by ourselves after sharing it with Scotland and Ireland previously. The way Ben (Cooper) batted at the top was very very important. We just make sure in a year's time, we need to be very well prepared. With the team we have got, we should be well placed. He (Donald Glover) impressed everyone with his pace in club cricket a couple of years back. PNG plays some very disciplined cricket. Our plans tonight were a little tight. But they have a very good team and they have showed the world that they belong here.
Assad Vala | PNG captain: We have made our country very proud. I was happy with the way we fought. The way Ackermann and ten Doeschate batted made us learn that we should have batted like them. He (Damien Ravu) got dropped and came back to lead our attack. That shows his character. Our batting let us down. It wasn't up to the mark at this level. We need to work on it.
The PNG team are collecting their medals. Charles Amini being the first one to pocket his medal. Assad Vala is the last one in the queue.
Gerhard Erasmus is the Man of the Series. The Namibia captain scored 268 runs in the tournament and played a key role in helping his side qualify for the main tournament.
Brandon Glover, Man of the Match: This is incredible. We are so grateful. We got so many great players. It is about doing your job in our team. Running in and thinking that I need to hit the right lines. Didn't really know at what speed I was bowling.
The match officials getting their mementos.
Time for the presentations!
Ryan ten Doeschate: It was tough in the middle. I could have got out a couple of times myself. The boys batted beautifully at the beginning. PNG did well to get to 128. We bowled really well. We thought of having partnerships. The PNG team don't give a run on the field. Before the game, we discussed we needed to be brave and take our chances. We wanted them to take risks and it paid off. It was more important to qualify and it was the same for all the six teams. Winning the tourney is the icing on the cake. We wanted to avenge our loss to PNG earlier. A year is a long time in this day and age. We will see how it goes after the summer.
Ryan Campbell, Netherlands coach: Very relieved to be honest. We worked through some issues - we had some injuries, unavailability of the players but this group of players stuck together and dug deep. Fantastic performance. The youngsters we played all season, like the Glovers and Freddie Klaasen and we even had a leggie who couldn't get a chance as the fast bowlers were going so well. This is a young team and let's see how they go. We have based our T20 game on getting 160 and not 200 and in the last two games you have seen that you need to swallow your ego. We had full faith in our fast bowlers and the surfaces were not that neat as everyone thought it would be. When you are facing 145kph it is going to be tough. We are going to go there (to Australia) with a good team and be competitive.
22:29 Local Time, 18:29 GMT, 23:59 IST: Netherlands have won the World T20 Qualifiers! But have no doubts, this PNG team is here to stay. It was a tense chase till Tendo arrived. Post that, the game went all by his calculations. The man at the other end Ackermann didn't need to hit a single boundary in his 33-ball stay and still Netherlands won with an over to spare. Ben Cooper earlier in the chase played a terrific knock of 41. He took on the spinners sparingly and that plan worked as he mixed caution with aggression in the right amounts. PNG was led by their skipper who did well in the middle overs. But his team needed perhaps 15 more runs and a few more wickets with the ball but that didn't happen as the experience of Netherlands prevailed.

Pokana to ten Doeschate, SIX, Netherlands win! They can now paint the Trophy orange! That was in the slot and ten Doeschate nonchalantly clipped it off the pads for a sixer into the cow corner region. Hugs and claps in the dressing room
Pokana to Ackermann, 1 run, and fittingly one of Netherlands's legends gets the chance to finish it off. That was full and driven down to long-off
Pokana to Ackermann, 2 runs, looks for the glory hit as he sliced it over cover. But the man at long-off cut it off. Scored a direct hit from the deep but the ricochet allowed the second one to be taken
Pokana to ten Doeschate, leg byes, 1 run, looks to clip it fine but fails to wood it. The ball dribbles away off the pads for a single
Pokana to Ackermann, 1 run, knocks the ball off the pads and sends it to fine leg for a single
Pokana to Ackermann, wide, slower and down leg, Ackermann fails to paddle it for it to be called as a wide
Pokana to Ackermann, 2 runs, two more added to the tally! Only 7 needed now. That was fuller and wider, Ackermann sliced it past cover for a brace
