India have started off on a winning note in the T20I series. Their T20 form in 2020 has been phenomenal. They blanked NZ in the NZ and now have gone one up on the Aussies. Rohit Sharma wasn't available, Bumrah rested and still India looked so strong. Australia also weren't too happy that India were allowed to have a like for like replacement as Chahal managed to replace Jadeja during the innings break after he complained of concussion. But in hindsight, India would have realized that it was indeed a huge mistake to leave out Chahal. A concussion sub was awarded the Man of the Match. Yes, we live in such times. Weird it might be but India got the rub off the green. For Australia, it might be a tough pill to swallow as they looked pretty comfortable in the chase till they lost their first wicket. The concussion substitute rule has already raised a lot of eyebrows and it will continue to do so. Our team doesn't have a divided opinion though, that we are done for the day. This is Kumar Abhisekh Das signing off on behalf of Sagar Chawla, Hariprasad Sadanandan and Siva.

Virat Kohli: There were no plans of having Yuzi in the game. Concussion replacements are a strange thing. Today, it worked for us. Yuzi showed character to squeeze the opponents. I thought they had a great start. They were cruising. The batters offered us a few wickets. That is T20 cricket for you. In Australia, you need to play hard and show intensity till the end. He batted beautifully in the last game. Natarajan looks like he can improve a lot. Chahar bowled well as well. Chahal got us back in the game. Hardik's catch was a game changer as well.

Aaron Finch: The injury got progressively worse as the game went on (about his injury to the hip). Their doctor had ruled Jadeja out due to concussion. You can't be challenging a medical expert's opinion. We probably leaked too may runs at the death. Then while chasing, we didn't hit too many boundaries in the 6-over period.

Yuzvendra Chahal, Man of the Match: I have played so many games and was mentally fit. 10-15 minutes before the start of the innings, I got to know I will play. The way Zampa bowled, I tried to do the same as well. It was a little harder to score in the first innings. 150-160 is a good score on this wicket. I bowled according to my plans.

22:57 Local Time, 11:57 GMT, 17:27 IST: Jadeja and his concussion sub - Chahal - have done it for India. Langer looked miffed and had words exchanged with David Boon, the match referee about the incident. But India got the luck of the draw. Jadeja during his batting was hit on the helmet and was hampered by his hamstring as well. The referee thanks to that blow on to the helmet allowed the concussion sub. Chahal once a part of the game, set the tone for India by picking up wickets at the regular intervals. Australia started off well but once that was broken, the Indian bowling attack never relented. Natarajan also starred with the ball for India and that too in his debut game. Lots will be discussed about the concussion sub and the debate will be endless as well.

Shami to Swepson, FOUR, four reduces the margin of defeat but India win it by 11 runs. This venue certainly helping India to claw back on this tour. Was a length ball and Swepson backed away and lofted it over cover for a four

6

Shami to Swepson, SIX, some timing! That was a fuller delivery, Swepson got under it and lofted it over long-off. Pandya at long-off tried to leap up and pull it back but wasn't able to

19.4

Shami to Abbott, 1 run, fuller delivery and has been driven out into the off-side for a single

19.3

Shami to Abbott, no run, backs away and misses a fuller delivery outside off. India won't be beaten now even if the last three disappear for sixes

19.2

Shami to Swepson, 1 run, toe-ends the ball away into the off-side for a single as that was fuller outside off

19.1

Shami to Abbott, 3 runs, sits down and scoops it over the keeper's head for a triple. That was very adventurous and somehow he got it away

Mohammed Shami [3.0-0-31-0] is back into the attack
India's bowling has been clinical.

Bhargav: @Cricbuzz, I think Jadeja will be the MoM and Chahal will come to receive the award.

T Natarajan to Abbott, SIX, slogged across the line and sixer! That was a length delivery and Abbott swiped it across the line for a sixer. Too late for Abbott

18.4

T Natarajan to Abbott, no run, slower, fuller outside off and Abbott trying to reverse scoop it, misses

18.3

T Natarajan to Swepson, 1 run, slapped down to long-off for a single as that was a length delivery outside off

18.2

T Natarajan to Swepson, no run, was it a drop? Or a bump ball? Looked like a catch to me. Easy take it was for Rahul who fluffed that. Was a hat-trick ball as well. But still ain't sure if it went straight off the bat

Mitchell Swepson, right handed bat, comes to the crease

T Natarajan to Starc, out Bowled!! That was a yorker! Starc misses and has been clean bowled. Another blow for Australia. India inching closer to a win. Starc tried to swipe it across the line and completely missed it. Natarajan continues to impress in his debut game. Starc b T Natarajan 1(2)
