The ODI series is done and dusted. And it's now time for the shortest format as these two teams play the first of the three T20Is on Friday. We've witnessed a number of mouth watering clashes when these two teams have played T20Is in Australia before, so let's hope we get a few more of such games in the upcoming week. The Aussies are happy as they pose with the trophy for the cameras. India would want to do the same. Can they do it too? We shall find that out in the next week or so. For now, this is Nikhil Jadhav signing off on behalf of Akshay Maanay, Raju Peethala, Sriram AS, Hariprasad Sadanandan and Siva. Goodbye folks!

A gist of the series: Steve Smith was the showstopper in the first two ODIs with back-to-back centuries. And it was mainly due to his quick tons that Australia managed to post scores of 374 and 389 at Sydney. That's where Australia sealed it. India's bowling was off the radar at Sydney, but they were right on the money today. For India, Pandya's emergence as a solid number 6 was the biggest positive. Also, Jadeja's evolution as a power hitter has been a pleasant one.

Aaron Finch, Australia captain: I thought we fought really well. It was a great partnership between Hardik and Jadeja. If we got one of those wickets, we could have chased 240 max. Cameron Green came in and made an impact with ball and bat, and showed he belongs here. Agar bowled beautifully, it was a good day in terms of the changes we made. The impact that the two spinners are having, that's important. It's nice when the guys in the top order contribute and then Maxi (Maxwell) can come in and do his thing with Carey and other guys. Hopefully he's (Starc) ready for the T20Is. Was just a niggle.

Virat Kohli, India captain: We were put under the pump in the first half and in the second half of Australia's innings. Shubman and others coming in, it brings in a bit freshness. I think the pitch was much better for the bowlers. So the confidence levels go up. Playing international cricket for so long, that's the challenge you face and those are the kind of comebacks you make. We were clinical with the ball and in the field. Happy with the performance and hopefully we take the momentum forward. I would have liked to go on for a bit longer, but it was a great partnership between Pandya and Jadeja. The team needed that kind of a boost. That's needed when you play a team like Australia.

Steve Smith, Man of the Series: They have been close back to back games. A good series of cricket against a quality outfit. I think it did more with the new ball. The quicks bowled well upfront, it was a bit different as compared to the SCG. You just got to keep going forward and take the confidence. Hopefully I'll contribute in the upcoming games. Don't have any plan (tomorrow) at the moment, hopefully a day off.

Hardik Pandya, Man of the Match: I will be fine to play the T20Is. I have been working hard to play for my country, happy that I've got the opportunity. Really happy for Natarajan and rest of the bowlers. It's been quite a story for him. You need to be on your toes when it comes to playing against Australia. You got to push hard and face the challenge against them.

Satheesh V: A decent debut for Natarajan. 2 wickets and good bowling barring that 18-run over to Maxwell. He will be a strong contender for the playing 11 in T20Is.

22:29 Local Time, 11:29 GMT, 16:59 IST: A win for India, finally. It has taken some time, but a win is a win. The Indian fans will be delighted as the Men in Blue have finally got off the mark on this tour and broken their 5-match losing streak in ODIs. From 152/5 to 302/5 - that's where India won the match, to be honest. The partnership between Hardik Pandya and Ravindra Jadeja proved to be the game changer as India managed to post a more than handsome total earlier in the day. Australia did feel the absence of David Warner, but Glenn Maxwell almost gave India a heart-attack, until Jasprit Bumrah cleaned him up with a clinical yorker. Finch was amongst the runs once again, but Steve Smith couldn't repeat his heroics. And that's what hurt the Aussies. Indian bowlers - Thakur bowled an impressive spell and Natarajan who conceded an expensive over against Maxwell - roared back in style as he executed his yorkers once again. Not a bad debut after all. India win, but Australia take the series 2-1.

Bumrah to Zampa, out Lbw!! India win by 13 runs and it's Bumrah who finishes things off. Full, quick and fired at the sticks. Zampa looks to flick across the line, but the ball is too quick for him. HawkEye shows - pitched in line, impact in line and hitting the stumps. That's that! Sweet victory for India. Zampa lbw b Bumrah 4(7)

Bumrah to Zampa, THATS OUT!! Lbw!!

Zampa has been adjudged lbw! And he has decided to challenge the call. Tell you what! That's out. Nothing on HotSpot, nothing on Snicko. That's plumb!!

49.2

Bumrah to Zampa, no run, Zampa ain't going to connect them against Bumrah. The slower short ball and Zampa is way too early, swings and misses

49.1

Bumrah to Hazlewood, 1 run, attempted yorker that turns out to be a low full toss, but it was heading towards the stumps. Hazlewood squeezes it into the off side for one

Jasprit Bumrah [9.0-0-42-1] is back into the attack

48.6

Thakur to Hazlewood, 1 run, Australia need 15 runs off the final over as Hazlewood faces Bumrah. Was a length delivery outside off and Hazlewood slices it through cover-point for a single

48.5

Thakur to Zampa, 1 run, lovely effort by Thakur as he bowls another low full toss, slower one and it has been driven past the bowler for a single

48.4

Thakur to Hazlewood, 1 run, gets underneath this overpitched delivery and bludgeons it down to long-on for a single

48.3

Thakur to Hazlewood, 2 runs, low full toss outside off, Hazlewood drives it through cover-point and takes a couple of runs

Swapnil Pandya: If Shardul can consistently bowl such spells it will be very handy considering he has some good batting records

48.2

Thakur to Zampa, 1 run, tad fuller outside off, Zampa slices it through point and brings Hazlewood back on strike

48.1

Thakur to Zampa, no run, looks to be cheeky, tries to play the scoop shot, but Thakur is clever enough to keep this full and wide outside off, beaten due to the lack of pace, and of course the line
