Hardik Pandya receives the trophy and as his team-mates join, he hands it over to the young speedster - Umran Malik. All smiles in the Indian camp as they pose for the photographs. A 2-0 series win for India who were without some of their veterans. The Indian selectors are going to have a good headache. Ireland, meanwhile, should be proud of the way they batted today. They got so close and lost by a whisker. Well, it's time to bring the curtains down on this series. The fifth Test between England and India starts in a couple of days and Ireland will be hosting New Zealand shortly. See you there. For now, it's goodbye from Abhinand Raghavendran on behalf of Vineet Anantharaman and Mukesh Gowda.
Hardik Pandya | India captain: I was trying to keep all the pressure out of my equation. I wanted to be in the present and I backed Umran. He has pace, with his pace it's always going to be tough to get 18 runs. They played some amazing shots, they batted very well, credit to them and credit to our bowlers for holding their nerves. The crowd, their favourite boys were Dinesh and Sanju. Great experience to experience this side of the word. A lot of support comes for us, we try to entertain them and hope we did that. Thanks to everyone who supported us. As a child it's always a dream to play for your country. Leading and getting first win was special, now winning the series is special as well. Happy for Deepak and Umran.
Andrew Balbirnie | Ireland captain: We are all pretty good, we did a lot of good stuff with the bat. We wanted to express and we did that. Bitterly disappointed, a bitter pill to swallow. We wanted to make use of the powerplay and Paul did that brilliantly. He set the tone and I took some time. Our T20 cricket has been up and down. That sort of game is something what we want to do. We've gone toe to toe against a very good team. We can't let this be a flash in the pan.
Deepak Hooda | Player of the Match and Player of the Series: I am coming from a good IPL, I was trying to follow up the same performance here as well. I like playing aggressively. Batting up the order, I have the time, I try to play according to the situation. Sanju is a childhood friend, we played U-19 together, I am happy for him as well. Ireland is very good, I enjoyed it a lot. Fans are superb here, I never feel like playing outside India. Yeah, the wicket is different, thanks to all the fans for the support.
Harshal Patel: We were comfortable. When you get 225, you defend it most of the times. They played some really good shots, the wicket was a belter, the outfield was fast, we made a few mistakes, they got close, but we held our nerves and closed the game. The momentum was on the batting side but he (Umran Malik) held his nerve. They played some exceptional shots and we were sort of surprised the way they batted today. There's no doubt about the quality of the Ireland batters.

20:12 Local Time, 19:12 GMT, 00:42 IST: Umran Malik roars in delight, despair on the faces of the Irish players. On a good batting deck, Hardik opted to bat. India lost Ishan Kishan early but that was followed by a 176-run stand (India's highest partnership in T20Is) between Deepak Hooda and Sanju Samson. While the former notched up his maiden ton, the latter recorded his highest score and India posted a massive score of 225. Not many would have even backed the Irish team to get close to the target but the hosts had other ideas. In reply, Ireland got off to a flier scoring 65 runs in five overs. The introduction of spin provided the breakthrough as Bishnoi cleaned up Stirling for 40(18). They lost Delany in the very next over but captain kept his team in the hunt with his sixth T20I half-century. Even the skipper's dismissal didn't hamper Ireland as they kept coming hard at the Indian bowlers. Tector, Dockrell and Adair ensured that the required rate was never out of reach. With 17 needed, there were a couple of boundaries and a no-ball. But Umran Malik, playing his second T20I, held his nerve and India sneaked home narrowly. Stick around for the presentations...
