India - 2 | New Zealand - 0. With the amount of cricket India have been playing of late, they are bound to lose that one-odd game, but that looks unlikely at the moment. They've been unstoppable, irrespective of the formats. India have never beaten New Zealand in a T20I series before in New Zealand. There's always a first-time though, and India are on the brink of achieving that. On that note, this is Nikhil Jadhav waving goodbye alongside my co-commentators - Akshay Maanay, Varun Dixit, Abhinand Raghavendran and our scorer Naga. Hamilton next!
Harsha Bhogle: A win to be proud of. Outstanding again from KL Rahul. He loves this format.
KL Rahul, MoM: Obviously different circumstances, the target was different and the pitch was different from what we played on a couple of days before. I knew what I had to do, I couldn't play the same way. I had a different responsibility. We lost Rohit and Kohli early, so I had to stay in there. I don't really know what to say about that (the consistent run of scores). The understanding of my game and reading my game has helped me to be more consistent. I always need to keep the team ahead and what the team requires. I have come up with the right shots and the right answers. That's been my mantra over the last few games and in the T20 format.
Virat Kohli: I think we backed it up with another good performance today especially with the ball. The bowlers stood up and took control. I think the lines and lengths we bowled today, sticking to one side of the wicket and being sure of what we wanted to bowl. It was a very good feature for us as team. That helped us restrict a strong side like New Zealand to such a low total. I think the pitch was good enough for a score of 160 in the first innings. We understood the angles of the field better, how the pitch was playing, how the New Zealand batsmen were approaching. We had to make a few changes and I had to think on my feet as a captain. I think Jadeja was outstanding, once again Chahal was a banker. Bumrah was amazing as well. I think we backed it up in the field. The surface gripped a bit. When you have a complete performance like that, it helps. This same side has won us two games. I know New Zealand are going to bounce back hard. We need to bring our A game again and we are up for the challenge. I think the dimensions of Hamilton are better than Auckland, it's an even field for the bowlers.
Kane Williamson: It was a tough day and the wicket was quite different from the first game. As a batting unit we needed probably another 15-20 runs more for a competitive total. Credit to the Indian bowlers for the way they restricted us, credit to the Indian side that put us under pressure and outplayed us in all the departments. Even if we had 130 on the board on a small ground, we knew we had to take early wickets. I think with the spinners we were able to take the game to a point where something had to give. They showed the experience and took the game deeper, they were clinical. I need to bat a little better perhaps. That's something we would like to do. I don't think the surface changed too much. We needed to take a couple of wickets on the sluggish wicket. We were probably 15-20 runs than where we wanted to be. We need to be better in the next match. We need to keep moving forward as a group as we're up against a tough side like India. That's a great thing, we get to test ourselves against the best.
23:02 Local Time, 10:02 GMT, 15:32 IST: As a result of a professional all-round performance, India have managed to take a 2-0 lead in the 5-match T20I series. If it were the batsmen who won India the previous game, it were the bowlers who came to party today. Apart from the toss, everything went right for the Men in Blue. On a two paced track, the Indian bowlers were clinical. Shami, Bumrah, Chahal - all of them chipped in with crucial bowling spells. But it was Jadeja who bowled the match defining one. He never let the opposition off the hook as the visitors managed to restrict the Kiwis to 132. Rahul scored a fifty in the first match, but it was an unbeaten half-century today that took India over the line. Not to forget Iyer's crucial 44 and the partnership of 86 for the third wicket that turned out to be so pivotal eventually. Also, this is for the first time that India have beaten New Zealand in two successive T20Is. Presentations soon..
Southee to Shivam Dube, SIX, India win, go 2-0 up in the series. Another six that seals the deal. Iyer the other day, and Dube tonight. A short ball by Southee and it's been thumped off the back foot over long-on by Dube. That's the icing on the cake
Southee to Rahul, 1 run, back of a length around middle and leg, Rahul knocks it down to long-on for one
Southee to Shivam Dube, 1 run, short and wide outside off, Shivam Dube rocks back and slaps it through covers for one

Shivam Dube, left handed bat, comes to the crease
Ish Sodhi to Shreyas Iyer, out Caught by Southee!! Had he connected this one, this could have been his second successive fifty of the series. Unfortunately, he has missed out on it by six runs. A loopy legbreak by Ish Sodhi and the batsman's eyes lit up on seeing the flight. Throws the kitchen sink at it and miscues it right over the bowler's head. Southee settles under the skier and completes the formalities. Safe hands! Shreyas Iyer c Southee b Ish Sodhi 44(33) [4s-1 6s-3]
Ish Sodhi to Shreyas Iyer, THATS OUT!! Caught!!
Ish Sodhi to Shreyas Iyer, wide, pressure on the bowler, Ish Sodhi doesn't want to bowl this one in Shreyas Iyer's arch, so he keeps it a bit wide, misses the tramline though
Ish Sodhi to Shreyas Iyer, SIX, going, going and gone! That was in the air for an eternity. A tossed up delivery by Ish Sodhi, Shreyas Iyer keeps his eyes on the ball till the last moment, brings his bat down in a sweet flow and lofts it over long-on for a gigantic six. Down to single digits now, just 9 needed
Ish Sodhi to Rahul, 1 run, fired on the pads and it's been clipped through mid-wicket for one
Ish Sodhi [3.0-0-23-0] is back into the attack
Harsha Bhogle: Excellent partnership. Rahul and Shreyas. Played the situation well, played in different gears and showed their class. This is what you look for in a top order batsman.
