That's a wrap then. Clinical win for India and they will look to seal the series on Tuesday. Can Sri Lanka fightback? We shall find out. Until the second T20I, it's a goodbye and goodnight from us here. Ta-ta!

Shikhar Dhawan: I thought we were 10-15 runs short. I feel we played quite well after losing early wickets. It was about one or two boundaries, we knew we could get going. He(SKY) is a great player and we enjoy watching him bat. He took the pressure from me and the way he plays calculated shots was amazing to watch. They were playing well, we knew our spinners will do the job on that wicket. Bhuvi bowled well, so was KP. Everyone stood up and even Varun too playing his first match did well giving a few runs and got the wicket. Prithvi is playing well and he is going to bounce back stronger. He's (Varun) difficult to pick, I am very happy for him.

Dasun Shanaka: 164 was chaseable on this wicket. Bowlers up front started well but our batsmen faltered. Asalanka and Bandara's wicket was the turning point for us. I thought our bowlers did an amazing job on this wicket. I hope boys come out and deliver for us. I am proud of the debutants today.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar | Player of the Match : I executed what I wanted to and I am satisfied. I played ODIs after a few months but execution is really important for me. The wicket was difficult to bat against the spinners.

SagarK: Loved this ground and pitch. Its big enough so that mistimed shots don't go to sixes and this pitch has help to both seamers and spinners and even batsmen if they applied themselves.

23:27 Local Time, 17:57 GMT, 23:27 IST: India go 1-0 up! A comprehensive 38-run victory. 165 proved too much for Sri Lanka in the end. Except for Charith Asalanka's threat, there wasn't any impactful innings from the hosts' batsmen. Avishka showed some intent at the start but Bhuvneshwar got rid of him in his new spell. Asalanka tried stitching a few partnerships but lacked support at the other end. With the required rate climbing up each over and the track getting slower and slower, it was quite a challenge to find the big hits. And once Asalanka was dismissed in the 16th over, the writing was on the wall as India kept picking wickets after that and asphyxiated the chase. Bhuvneshwar Kumar was the stand-out bowler with four scalps but others too performed their roles perfectly. Presentations coming up..

Bhuvneshwar to Udana, out Caught by Suryakumar Yadav!! Udana perishes trying to go for the biggie. Gets too much of height on this slog and sends it into the night sky. Doesn't have enough distance to clear SKY at long-on. Straightforward catch for him. Third wicket for Bhuvi. Udana c Suryakumar Yadav b Bhuvneshwar 1(2)

Bhuvneshwar to Udana, THATS OUT!! Caught!!

40 from the final two.. India need just two wickets.

Chakravarthy to Shanaka, out Stumped!! This should be it. India get closer here. Maiden T20I scalp for Varun Chakravarthy! Gets it to rush through quicker outside off, Shanaka gropes at it and loses his balance. Ishan spotted it and removed the bails off quickly. Knew it was out and he was right. Shanaka st Ishan Kishan b Chakravarthy 16(14) [6s-1]

Chakravarthy to Shanaka, THATS OUT!! Stumped!!

There's a referral for stumping. Is Shanaka's back leg in the air? Yeah, it is when the bails are dislodged. He's already started his way back to the dressing room. OUT!

Krishna: WOW!! Deepak Chahar is a match changer. That day by batting a brave innings and now by bowling a superb over.

17.3

Chakravarthy to Shanaka, no run, tossed up on off, Shanaka smothers it under his eyes

17.2

Chakravarthy to Udana, 1 run, quicker and Udana plays all around it. Varun appeals but umpire Raveendra Wimalasiri walks away showing no interest. Will India review? Nope.. missing leg or did he get an inside edge? Given as runs, so there was bat involved there
