The series trophy is presented to Tamim who accepts with a smile and the rest of the Bangladeshi team join him as they smile and pose for the cameras. Bangladesh win the series 2-0. Ireland have a lot of wounds to lick as we head to the T20I series which starts on 27th March. We will be there for that one. In the meanwhile, do catch up on all the other cricketing action here on this platform. For now it's tata, bye and chee you!
Tamim Iqbal | Bangladesh captain: Unbelievable. The way we played this whole series, the two batting performances in the first two games is something we have not done before. The way the fast bowlers bowled today was unbelievable. Now I can proudly say that we have a solid, solid, solid fast bowling unit. A player like Miraz when they start performing with the bat, we can go with a batter short, so today we went with an extra bowler. We need to keep believing in our players - there will be ups and downs but we have to back them and keep going forward. I have the belief that this unit can be one of the best in the world. The way we chased down the runs with authority which gives out a statement to the opposition. Few weeks before I said in the press conference, we will play on sporting wickets, all credit to the coach who encouraged us to play on such wickets. When you play on these wickets, you can end up surprising yourself with the results you can achieve.
Mushfiqur Rahim | Player of the Series: We had another series win and all the boys chipped in really well. Doesn't matter if it is the first game or the 200th game. The conditions were pretty good to be honest. I just go out there and express myself. The top-order put us in a good position for me to go and play. Whenever you can you have to chip in all departments and hopefully I can do the same in the coming years.
Hasan Mahmud | Player of the Match: I'm so grateful to everyone. This is the first time I have got a fifer and I'm pretty excited. The weather also is very good for the fast bowlers and we enjoyed a lot. All of this is due to one man [Allan Donald] and as a fast bowling unit we are working hard and improving day by day. We are working hard in the channels and it has gone well.
Andy Balbirnie | Ireland captain: We are very disappointed. Don't think the cricket we have played over the last 3 days reflects who we are or what we have done over the last 2-3 years. Can't really fault the effort of the guys. We did expect spin to play a big part, but our defence with the bat wasn't good enough. We know the level we have to compete against these guys. Their seamers are top-draw and they bowled pretty well and we did not adapt. We just got to move on to the next format. We had a pretty good World Cup in Australia and we know what we can do in that format. But we are up against a strong Bangladesh side and we have to be a lot better to turn it around. I think our fielding has been OK. Our bowlers have tried, but it hasn't been easy conditions for them. Our batting has to improve.
18:17 Local Time, 12:17 GMT, 17:47 IST: A proper shellacking this for Ireland. For Bangladesh this is their first-ever 10-wicket win in ODIs. Nothing went right for Ireland, not only today, but also the series. A sure whitewash was averted due to rain's presence in the 2nd ODI. Today was a no-contest. On a spicy pitch which produced seam and swing, the Bangladesh seamers took all 10 wickets as Ireland just collapsed. They did not have the technical ability to counter those conditions and the high-class bowling of Hasan Mahmud, Taskin and Ebadot. The chase was then completed with ease. Boundaries came with disdain in the powerplay and any hint of a contest was over in the first couple of overs of the chase. Ireland will take some effort to recover from this smashing. Bangladesh on the other hand are just a very good ODI side and at home they are one of the best in the world currently. One more series win to Tamim and Co. as they build up nicely to the ICC Cricket World Cup in India later in the year. Stay tuned for the post-match presentation...
