A victory that Ireland will cherish for a long, long time. 2011 (World Cup) - Bangalore. 2020 - Southampton. Two England-Ireland games that are etched in memory forever. Right then, we are done with the ODIs. It's time to shift focus to the action in whites. England take on Pakistan in a 3-match Test series starting tomorrow. Joe Root vs Babar Azam. James Anderson, Stuart Broad, Jofra Archer vs Shaheen Afridi, Naseem Shah, Mohammad Abbas. Ben Stokes vs 404 Error Not Found? Plenty of exciting battles within a battle. Do join us for the live coverage of the first Test that starts tomorrow. That's all we've got for today. This is Nikhil Jadhav signing off on behalf of Abhinand Raghavendran, Akshay Maanay, Mukesh Gowda and Praveen. It’s 3 in the night and my eyes are craving for some sleep. Time to hit the sack. Good night folks!
Eoin Morgan, England captain: I think Ireland outplayed us today, we had an average day. Being 3 down early, then rebuilding and the guys rescuing later. We have more than enough wicket takers in our group. Stirling had a good day, but we missed out on the opportunities. We are learning more and more about the players who are coming in and getting opportunities. Billings with two good knocks (67* and 46*), Banton with a fifty today. Willey the way he's playing - it seems he has a point to prove. Bit of a groin tweak, but I think I'll be fine before the Pakistan series. Moeen used his experience and did all that he could, but didn't manage to take wickets. Great to be back playing international cricket.
Andrew Balbirnie, Ireland captain: We didn't perform with the bat at all in the first two ODIs. To come back in the field and to chase down such a total against a good England team is very satisfying. (At the halfway stage) We absolutely thought we could chase. We knew that we needed to bat well. We bowled really well, we picked regular wickets which was great and 320-330 we were in the game. I tried to be positive whenever I could, obviously it's a different positive the way Paul bats. We created a big partnership which essentially went a long way to winning the game. It's going to be a scrap for us, we are really grateful for the opportunity. We are grateful to ECB for pulling this off and providing a great environment. We are not sure what's gonna happen, but hopefully there will be be more fixtures.
David Willey, Man of the Series: It's nice to get a go, obviously back in the fold, I'm pretty pleased. Normally, I don't bat for England, which means we are doing well. It's nice to get few runs and get few wickets as well. I am just happy to get another chance after the World Cup and not getting involved in the winter. All I had to do was come out and enjoy. I might need a week to build up (for the County game).
Paul Stirling, Man of the Match: It takes a lot of character to come back after the way we lost the first two games. I think it's a combination of lot of things. We haven't played cricket since four months, so you tend to be rusty. I love batting with Balbirnie, we seem to bat great together, hopefully we'll have many more partnerships in days to come. He's really solid out there. It's a nice knock to have under your belt, a win against England in England, but more than the knock - the win counts.

21:53 Local Time, 20:53 GMT, 02:23 IST: On the back of Paul Stirling's sensational knock of 142 and their skipper - Andrew Balbirnie's impressive century, Ireland have managed to register an emphatic win against England in their backyard. Choosing to field first, Ireland bowlers did get them off to a superb start by claiming three early wickets, but Morgan and Banton had other ideas. The pair had a good partnership while setting the target, but Stirling and Balbirnie had an even better partnership; a match defining stand of 214 that proved to be the highlight of the run chase. And of course, how can we forget the cameos by Harry Tector and Kevin O’ Brien? They mixed caution with aggression when it mattered the most and made sure Ireland get over the line without further hiccups. England did miss captain Morgan in the field, but more than that it were those two dropped catches of Paul Stirling that came back to haunt them.
Saqib Mahmood to Kevin O Brien, 1 run, a target of 328 in Bangalore - a target of 329 in Southampton. Ireland beat England only for the second time in the history of ODI cricket. A short ball by Mahmood and KoB - the man hooks it towards backward square leg as Ireland win by 7 wickets and they’re off the mark in the World Cup Super League points table as well
Saqib Mahmood to Kevin O Brien, no run, short and quick outside off, Kevin O Brien attempts a cut, but he gets undone due to the pace and bounce, beaten on his top-edge
Saqib Mahmood to Kevin O Brien, 2 runs, squeezes the fullish delivery through mid-wicket as he takes two - Ireland are only 1 away from an emphatic win
Saqib Mahmood to Harry Tector, no ball, 1 run, that's a crime! Bowling a no-ball at this stage of the game. Moreover, it's a free-hit. A high full toss by Saqib Mahmood and Harry Tector pulls it towards deep mid-wicket
Saqib Mahmood to Kevin O Brien, 1 run, on the pads and Kevin O Brien flicks it towards deep square leg for one
Saqib Mahmood to Kevin O Brien, 2 runs, Kevin O Brien calls for two as soon as he hits this one through covers and makes sure to complete a couple of runs. A fullish delivery that was wide outside off and the batsman had to reach out for it, creaming it through the gap on the off side
Saqib Mahmood [9.0-0-50-0] is back into the attack
