It has been a mixed tour for the Proteas. Earlier in the tour, SA were found wanting against Afghanistan in slow and low conditions of UAE but did well to bounce back in the final ODI. They lost the series 2-1 but some of their younger players gained good experience in these conditions. After that, they took on Ireland for a 2-match T20I series which ended on level terms with both teams getting a win each. South Africa have clinched the ODI series 2-1 but Ireland will be really pleased with tonight's historic win. These were testing conditions and will prove to be beneficial for the players in the future. The Proteas will head over to Bangladesh in a couple of weeks' time to play a Test series. for We hope you enjoyed our coverage. Until next time, goodbye and cheers!

Time for the glory moment! The trophy is presented to Rassie and he along with Bavuma, hold the trophy together. Now, they pose for photos with their team-mates.

Rassie van der Dussen | South Africa stand-in captain: We didn't really appreciate after the first two games how much it changes under lights. We weren't good enough to overcome the discrepancy in the conditions tonight. I can't fault any of the guys. The intensity was there like the first two ODIs. Credit to them, they batted well, they took the sting out of the new ball. They were on the money with the new ball and took the game away from us. Jason Smith, Rickelton, Stubbs, and (Lizaad) he is a senior player now although he has played only a handful of games, he has been around for a while, all of them played well.

Lizaad Williams | Player of the Series: We had to show them the outswinger and then bring it in. We knew that wobble-seamers are going to be the most effective on this surface. It was a bit slower, it was moving. Credit to them for negotiating the new ball, so credit to their two openers.

Paul Stirling | Player of the Match & Ireland captain: Thankful that we won the toss and got to bat first. It was slow to start with and the pitch quickened up later on. We are relieved to have won the third ODI. Happy to have played well in tough conditions and win this game. The gameplan was already set coming in, we knew that if we applied ourselves and kept wickets in hand, we will score runs. We knew there will be seam movement under lights and it worked for us. We got the best conditions today. The players we have used in this series, both the T20Is and ODIs will be better going forward.

Jason Smith | Impact player of the match: It was always going to be tough in such a situation, they bowled nicely. The conditions allowed me to take my time and take it deep. I was really nervous, I had a few chirps when I was on zero for about 20 balls. It was a good landmark to get my first run and I took it from there.

23:38 Local Time, 19:38 GMT, 01:08 IST: A brilliant overall performance from Ireland to topple the Proteas. Ireland won an important toss and chose to bat on a good batting surface. Fifties from Stirling and Tector and a few cameos from others enabled them to post a competitive total on the board. At the halfway stage, SA would have backed themselves considering the form their batters had shown so far in the series. But the ball hooped around under lights and caught the Protea batters off-guard. Their top-order was dismantled early with Adair leading the way for the Irishmen. A 49-run stand between Verreynne and Stubbs helped to stabilize SA somewhat. But, Young dismissed the former who was looking good and that opened things up again. Ireland continued to pick up wickets at regular intervals and the required rate kept creeping up. Amidst all this, Jason Smith batted brilliantly and played some exquisite strokes. He changed gears as he grew into his innings but kept running out of partners. He kept going strong and was eyeing his maiden ODI ton but fell against the run of play. His dismissal shut the doors for SA and they were soon bowled out. Hume, Young and Adair were the pick of the bowlers for Ireland. Humphreys also bowled well. Stick around for the presentations...
