Now then, the monkey's off Bangladesh's back. They've finally managed to win a T20I against New Zealand, and they've done it in brutal fashion. Now, they need to gather themselves and continue the same way in a bid to prepare for the T20 World Cup later this year. This is a good time to peak and a good time for a boost. As for the Kiwis, they're never to be taken lightly, as the Bangladesh top order found out before the middle order rescued them. On that note, it's a goodbye from Rishi Roy, alongside Abhinand and Nikhil. Ciao for now!

Mahmudullah | Bangladesh (winning) captain: It's a good feeling having lost a few matches. The first game is always important, but we need to come back and do this again. I think the key was that the bowlers have been hungry and disciplined, not trying too much, applying themselves in the conditions and bowling really well. I would have batted first, we could've taken early wickets and put pressure on them, and that's not in our control, so whatever we do, we need to do it to the best of our abilities.

Shakib Al Hasan | Man of the Match: It's a good feeling to win the first match of a series, given that we have never won against NZ. It will boost our team and give us confidence for the rest of the series. I think we have been bowling well throughout the Australia series and now against NZ. Our batting is not upto the mark but the conditions are not easy for batsmen so we have to play really good cricket to put up a decent total.

Tom Latham | NZ (losing) captain: It was disappointing, the start. We built a partnership in the middle, we knew it would be tough, but we kept losing wickets. We couldn't put it together today. Hope we take learnings from what happened today, we need to understand the conditions which are very different from what we have back home. If we put a competitive total and put some pressure then you never know what might happen. We need to work out what a good score is and find a way to get to that score. The guys will learn a lot from this, it's tough in these conditions, and hopefully we do better in the next time.

18:32 Local Time, 12:32 GMT, 18:02 IST: A commanding victory for the hosts, who have overpowered the inexperienced Kiwis in brutal fashion, and almost bullied the batting line-up into submission, attacking with spin from the very beginning to secure Bangladesh's first win over the Kiwis in men's T20Is. No one showed character or adaptability, other than Latham and Nicholls, and once they were rolled over for their joint-lowest score in T20Is, even the early wickets by New Zealand's spinners didn't help as the experienced trio of Shakib, Mushy and Mahmudullah nudged and nurdled their way to the paltry target. Presentations coming up in a moment. Go nowhere...
